I could see some sort of real voting representation in the House for Guam/CNMI/Virgin (I think that's all the populated territories right?). Perhaps some sort of presidential voting too. That probably requires expansion of the House as they are quite quite small population wise. Full statehood seems out of the question, I can't see current states accepting them as equals (and I agree, an island of 50k people as the equal to California sounds ridiculous). I'm not sure about the Virgin Islands, but I know Guam/CNMI have historically voted/worked towards closer relations with the US. They're probably fully aware that as relatively tiny island nations they're going to wind up 'territories' to some world power one way or another.

If the islands were full of white people I'm certain it wouldn't be a problem.

I feel like we are so close to agreeing with something. The issue is Biden might be more worthless and stupid than Trump is. I would just not vote before I voted for the Donald but it's not like Biden givens anyone a sense of security or hope.

So I was there in 2005 so things could have changed a lot, but the place is a complete ********. There is one main street where there are a lot of nice hotels, restaurants, high end shopping, etc. then it's like one big trailer park outside of that. Guam is a jumping off point to explore the Mariana Trench, so that one little strip serves as the tourist spot for them. It has about one afternoon's worth of stuff to do.

I mean, it's not that much more absurd than Wyoming having the same representation in the Senate as California or New York. Maybe I'm just more cynical about how quickly conservatives would jump to add a few more senate seats to their party.

Maybe so, and if I were re-drawing the lines I certainly wouldn't divide the US up like it is, but I would be fairly surprised if we admit any more tiny states without first having massive changes to our governmental system (essentially the abolition of the Senate).

I’m not saying that Biden is a genius, but holy **** man, you (and people like you) have talked yourselves into a weird corner if you actually believe this ****.
