Tough Day To Be In Law Enforcement

You can't show up to something with firearms and expect things to go well. Let actual law enforcement attempt to de-escalate things.

And arguing with individuals with said guns is also putting yourself in a harmful position.

Everyone needs to stop being cowboys.

He had a long history of being a troubled student. His own classmates believed he’d one day become a shooter. His social media is swamped with white supremacist and pro Trump messages. He traveled across state lines to shoot BLM protesters. Called people N words. He wasn’t trying to be a cowboy. I agree we need to stop with all of this gun violence nonsense. But I believe He was acting as White supremacists do. We need to stop playing games with this “blue lives matter” nonsense and going to protest BLM. It’s code for White supremacy. There was absolutely nothing redeemable about his actions.

The protesters have the right idea to protest for social justice reform. Their execution was flawed. Traveling across state lines to shoot people? There’s nothing good that going to come from that.

I agree 100%
Just pointing out the guy saying shoot me wasn't suicidal.

The short answer is, yes, if you think they are a threat. In fact, **** yes, smash their ****ing face if you can, if they are threatening and carrying a gun.

Here is the problem with unbridled gun use (well, a problem, among many): once the bullets start to fly, or someone appears threatening and are holding a gun, how is anyone supposed to know who the "good guy" and who the "bad guy" is. If I saw someone running willy-nilly through the streets carrying a gun, especially if he had already started shooting, I am not going to immediately think "oh, that guy is obviously defending himself against multiple assailants, I better help him out". No, with limited knowledge of the situation you just walked into, the rational thought is "holy ****, this is an active shooter situation as we have seen and heard drilled into us time and time again, that guy it a threat!" And the rational response is to...well, it is to run away, but if you feel you can and need to help defend others, or if you are just a nihilist like me, then maybe you go in swinging hoping to bring the guy down, even if what you have available to swing is just a skateboard.

See, just like the whole problem with "arm-chair QB-ing" the police, that we cannot know what they were facing/thinking/feeling when they were in the difficult situations, the same applies here. We cannot know what these guys were all thinking. My bet is, most thought this kid with the AR was a threat, and they went at it rather than doing the rational thing and running away. Does not mean they deserve to be shot down.

That decision would be way beyond poor, and you'd deserve to be killed for taking such a terribly uninformed actions.

After watching the currently available footage, it is clear and evident that the first shooting was justified, the deceased got what he deserved so to speak. Rittenhouse may currently be charged for it but he will walk.

Why?

I want to see someone defend this

I mean in reality there is no reason to, but technically wasn't he breaking a protective order, and that is why the cops were called? So yeah, no real reason to cuff him to the bed, but also he was technically in the middle of a felony when this went down right?

From what information is available: prior warrant for his arrest, resisting arrest, most likely breaking a protective order against him, auto theft, and attempting to kidnap his fiance's children. Cooler heads would like to wait for exact details instead of speculating.

It should be lost on no one that the behavior of the shooter is being promoted by the RNC. They had the couple brandishing guns on blm protesters speak at the convention for goodness sake. So this naive 17yo follows their example, meets a different reaction from a worked up crowd and things end predictably bad.
This is Trump's America.

Most certainly. My main argument is, regardless of his crimes, the 3 or 4 police officers should have been trained sufficiently to be able to physically detain him prior to him getting to his car. There are too many fat, old, lazy, nerdy, untrained cops out there. I almost can't blame them for shooting as they are not given the resources to deal with things in any other way.

Murder fetish POS should walk, eh franklin?

whatever.

I'd like for us to be cool. If you feel the same way I'd like to challenge you to a fight. Headgear, gloves, etc. I'm an old fat man. But if you care about us being cool you'll fight me.

Not a joke.

Can you rewrite that? I've read it 5 times and am not sure what you are saying. The skateboard doesn't count for what? You can just hit people with skateboards if they are carrying guns?

Yeah, he had just shot somebody in the head, called someone on his cellphone and said “I just killed somebody”, ran away, the skateboard guy gave chase, (and BTW, we now know the skateboarder was protesting peacefully), and attempted to take the gun off the murderer, when he was shot and killed himself. So, duh, yeah, the skateboarder is allowed to wield his skateboard to disarm/prevent further attacks by the murderer. Maybe I’m not surprised you somehow find that incomprehensible. You have quite often demonstrated a very cavalier attitude toward human life. And that sucks, but you be you....

1. Group of people chasing the 17 year old. No shots have been fired yet.

Slight correction. The guy with the gun had just shot and killed someone. Shot him in the head. Called someone, said “I just killed somebody”. (Maybe his mom, she drove him there, not sure who he called), ran away, and then the chase was on. The guy with the skateboard was more a hero, foolish maybe, don’t think I’d mess with someone carrying a semiautomatic, but a hero just the same. I never got past this one point of yours, since you start right off with “no shots fired yet”.
