The second myth is that the draft is the only place to get that... you can't get a minimum center like John Henson or Alex Len... you definitely can't use the BAE to get an upper tier guy like Baynes.

People forget that Favors struggled as a drop big for a year with Rudy off the floor.

We need to play zone honestly and just anchor Udoka to the paint imo. He will get cooked on the perimeter... Like Tony is better on the perimeter than he is. Maybe Hughes can teach Quin about zone defenses since he came from Syracuse.

Well we do know his stats last season were pretty much a carbon-copy of Rudy's stats last season. College vs. pro's yeah, but still.

Yes!!!!! Shooting bigs open the paint completely up so our perimeter guys can score inside.

I don’t understand why we can’t depend on Hughes but somehow can depend on the other rookie wings people have been pushing around here. To me, they’re all about the same, long shots. Hughes at least has a hell of a shot.

The Lakers won with size, not despite of it. They had 3 legit bigs, Denver had 2, we had 1.

even the warriors relied on bigs like Bogut and McGee to win.

We lost a lot when we got rid of favors last year. I love this move rebuilding our frontline.

I'm not sure you watched the playoffs. It was a wonky playoff anyway. Houston, the Clips, and Celtics all did better than us so...

You need some bigs but if those bigs can't shoot, pass, dribble, or defend on the perimeter then they will be marginalized. We have no bigs that do those things. Bam does all of those things except shoot at this point... AD does them all... Jokic is elite at all of them except defense. Bogut was an elite passing big man and one of the best screen setters ever. Even he was marginalized as the playoffs advanced.

Heat's backup big was Kelly Olynyk... shooting passing dribbling. It's just so obvious.

Its not necessarily about size... its about skill and size. Again... Xavier Tillman was sitting there and he has as great chance to bring everything you'd want... and you passed for the traditional big guy.

Thanks for proving my point. Going small will only guarantee being a 2nd or 3rd tier team. We cannot out small ball the better small ball teams out there. Might as well build off our strengths and use size as an advantage. If we’re going to try to out small ball the rockets, celtics, etc then we’re going to be very disappointed.

Really... which unskilled big guy has lead his team to a title? Udoka isn't better than Robert Williams who became unplayable.

Huh? That’s not even a valid comparison.

The wings in the late first round were just as risky as the wing we took in the second round. We upgraded our frontline while adding a wing just as dependable as anyone else. Why are people bitching?
