What's new

Jazz select Udoka Azubuike with pick 27 & trade Tony Bradley + pick 38 to the Pistons

you know that area that Udoka grew up in, Lagos Nigeria, they dont tend to raise punks in that area, from what ive heard. its a rather dangerous place to be, riddled with crime.

How much will he improve? He did start playing at around 12-years-old and has been injured quite a bit. What's his FT% ceiling? Will he ever get a shot or will he forever have only the dunk? The lob? Can he guard outside the post? Can he be Rudy 2.0?

But LA won because they sat Dwight and McGee to get the job done against a scrappy and small Miami team.

Denver and the Lakers are outliers with their bigs because they are incredibly unique bigs. Jokic and AD are dynamic offensively and capable defensively. We don't have that.

Last year, Toronto rotated various bigs to beat a team in GS that actually doesn't really rely on a big at all. But we all know they won due to injuries not because they had bigs.

It's a small ball game now. Bigs have roles but can't be the focus unless they are super dynamic.

We’re never going to our small ball the best small ball teams out there. Having more bigs is an advantage. Lakers wouldn’t have reached the finals if not for their deep collection of bigmen. I think some of your are severely underrating the advantage of having a solid backup to Gobert. You’re also purposely ignoring that we upgraded our wings by adding hughes. And are overrating Woodward and Bane as if we just missed out on Kevin Durant.

His vertical is fine, probably more like 33 inches, which is plenty explosive, Explosiveness is not his issue. He's just not as explosive as that vert would lead u to believe, becaUSE IT'S all based on a faulty standing reaCH MEASUREMENT ------ AKA THE PAT CONNAUGHTON...
yeah, 33 inch standing vert and 37 inch two step vert makes more sense. still elite. and it doesn't matter, tbh. it doesn't take a genius to see he's a great athlete for a 7 footer who has a huge lob radius and can finish around the rim better than just about any player who has come into the draft in 20 years or ever.

Do we want 7 footers shooting 3s? I’d prefer he set picks and destroy the rim. We have 4 other players who can shoot 3s.

Look at this ****... Here's a picture of Udoka at 14 years old...

udoka.jpg

just a powerhouse if there ever was one..

he hasnt grown much since then height wise, he was like 6'10 in this picture im pretty sure...

I don't really understand the pick unless Rudy has outright said he doesn't plan on coming back. I think everyone in the world but the front office sees we need an athletic wing..... and we might get more Niang o_O

One thing I haven't seen mentioned is Udoka has incredible hands. Some of his catches are unreal.

I just want Udoka to live at the FT line this short offseason. In time, try and work on some more moves to get a bit more dynamic 8-10 feet out.
