Are the Jazz going to trade Rudy?

Based on what some posters have written who are more knowledgeable about this than me, it sounds like the Jazz may be ready to trade Rudy. Who do you think are the likely trade partners and who would be the possible players they might be trading for? And while Conley would be the player the Jazz would like to trade, is he not likely to be traded because there is little market for him?

My guess is no. I don’t think they will get the value they crave back.

As far as trade partners, Boston or Brooklyn. Could see Atlanta as well.

I’m so sick and tired of this ****ing discussion topic!! Don’t be a damn idiot. The jazz aren’t going to trade Gobert. That’s laughable, you’re laughable for even thinking it’s possible. He is the identity of the jazz. Do you ever tire of being a complete efffing tool?

I saw in some rumors online that it's possible. And some posters have alluded to this, so I thought it would be an interesting topic for discussion.

I highly doubt it.

I still think he's likely to either re-sign in 2021 or sign an extension sometime soon.

If that doesnt happen I think he probably just leaves in free agency and joins the Mavs.

The Jazz can't just trade him. I doubt anyone is going to give up significant assets for a 1 year rental at Gobert. He has to agree to an extension where ever he would go for the Jazz to get any value from him.

Hopefully this all doesnt blow up in Utah's face, but I wouldn't be shocked if it does.

They're trading Rudy or at least trying, dumbass. Sorry you're in denial and lashing out.

The Jazz dumping four second rounders to dump three small contracts would suggest that the Jazz are:
-not signing anybody.
-not trading any of the main eight players.
It also suggests that they are tightly controlling their financial landscape. They may have a figure in the Rudy negotiations that they’re unwilling to go beyond, and that may be a sticking point.

I’m not willing to join almost everybody else in the assumption that we’re ducking the tax this year in order to spend into the tax in successive years (and thus get hit with repeater penalties). New ownership has earned none of that reputation.

We’re probably not trading Gobert because DL no longer has any assets to pair him with.

Right, but that’s for later seasons, and Gobert’s probably not gonna return much.

I don't see a trade unless Gobert demands out, historically it's not the Jazz way. Various signs do point to him walking next year though.

Maybe I wasn’t clear. I’m not assuming anything about later seasons. I see a team under new ownership that’s dumping a significant number of minor assets to get under the tax. That illustrates an organization that is tightly controlling its financial landscape; it doesn’t suggest anything about a willingness to pay later.

You have to admit though that by signing Favors and drafting Udoka, the Jazz have positioned themselves to trade him, and if they expect him to walk, then they should do whatever they can to get some assets for him. And right now, they should be able to get some good ones that would make the team better, considering they now have two centers, one established, waiting in the wings.
