Game Thread Feb 12, 2021 7:00PM MT: Jazz vs. Bucks

Added to Calendar: 02-12-21

This game may depend on how Favors looks. Last match-up we used him against certain line-ups but if he looks as hobbled as he did last game, it would not work. It's not a necessity though, if we come out and make our 3s that gives us a huge margin for error.

Y'all keep talking about the game tomorrow, but isn't the second Bucks game on Sunday?

Bucks are 7-7 on the road so I expect us to win. Giannis is playing great so I hope Favors is feeling good as I expect him to play 20+ minutes as Bogey can't begin to contain GA.
Put bogey on Lopez and gobert on Giannis. Imo

The Jazz have not lost a home game to the Milwaukee Buck since 2001. Just under 20 years.

John and Karl were on that team. Ray Allen and Big Dog Robinson were manning the Bucks.

On the Bucks board they are all "Hurrrr Durrrrr, Giannis completely OWNZZZ Gobert!!!!"

This is pretty much a must win.

Holy ****

Middleton's been beasting this year at 45% from three and also dishing out 6 assists a game. Tough team to stop.

The uptimism in this thread is making me wheeze...

Maybe, but it's quite possible he's been out this long because of caution. Like, this may have been something that they would have never held him out for, but because of last year they want to be extra, extra cautious. We're making our assumption on how bad it is based on the fact that he's already missed a week, without knowing why he's missed a week.

I have no idea and am not saying this is the case, just saying there can be other angles in here.
Yep, assumptions is all we have. That’s why I set my expectations at around 15 games.

Milwaukee is a very stubborn team defensively. I feel like they should be so much more versatile defensively than they are.

Their approach is, despite an open above the break 3 being a good shot, opponents aren't gonna take them every time, and they can live with a 35 percent shooter from that spot shooting them. They concede it so that they can better protect the rim, and to a much lesser extent, the corner 3. Where they run into trouble is when a team has a surplus of good shooters and is like "Okay we will take and hit them all game."
I guess you’ve been watching Coach Daniel. Maybe you should cite your sources?

Curious if we use a similar defensive strategy as our last game: don't have Rudy be the primary Giannis defender, but have him be the guy Giannis meets at the rim. Giannis had 35, but he seemed quieter last game. Hopefully Favors can run tonight.

I’d like to see a bit of Oni on Middleton.

MEMPHIS, Tenn. (WMC) - Longtime Memphis Grizzlies star Mike Conley was awarded for being a great teammate and great sportsman at Monday night's NBA Awards.Conley won the NBA Sportsmanship Award AND the Twyman-Stokes Teammate of the Year Award. “This is truly a great honor.”

How important is Conley ON the bench? Teammate of the year gonna help us win tonight.

I honestly think teams are intimidated by us. They know how good we are.
