Game Thread Feb 15, 2021 7:00PM MT: Jazz vs. 76ers

Added to Calendar: 02-15-21

Royce was awesome down the stretch and this is why the Jazz are contenders. Another double digit win against a top team. I know the game was a lot closer than the score. When they cut it to four i was sweating a bit. Then Royce took over and the Jazz win. They win with DM and Bogie have poor shooting nights and Rudy having a subpar game even though he did pick it up in the second half. Jazz were exposed a little on the boards tonight. Philly would be a tough match for us in a seven game series. Overall I am just so excited about this team. Now let's go sweep the Clippers.

The good:

Royce, Clarkson, jingles

The bad:

Our defense, Bogie is back in a shooting slump (0-6 from 3 tonight), and Mitchell wasn’t very efficient.

I think we dodged a bullet tonight. Had Embiid played, this would’ve been a loss.

Agree with everything except the Embiid part. Him just playing could've thrown a wrench in Simmons' and Harris' huge games so not ready to say it would be a for sure loss,.

Had Embiid played, Simmons wouldn't have gone off like that and we actually have someone that can hang with Embiid. Don't ask me why Bojan was guarding Simmons so much cuz he was offering scant resistance.

I watch him a lot. You just look for any lapse. He works hard all the time. He isn't lazy. He blocks out on rebounds better than anyone on the team. Which is the hard work that pays off but often missed by fans.

I mean the Jazz went from getting killed on the boards last year to leading the league in rebounding this year. Let me think about what changed. . .

Are Simmons and Harris better able to operate without Embiid in the lineup? Think this game was more competitive without Embiid? It feels like this might’ve been a loss had Embiid played but maybe he would’ve taken away from Harris and Simmons?
Seems like every shot pulled away from Simmons would have been a win for the Jazz.

That was a weird *** game. This is a cop out, but I think the "late" scratch from the Sixers really confused the Jazz. As we know, Quin is very reliant on his preparation. He is not an adjustment coach. Props to Simmons and Harris for lighting us up, but I do think the Jazz weren't ready and it showed.

JC is just amazing. It's unbelievable how good he's been. Ingles was terrific all night as well. We really needed them because Bogey couldn't make a 3 and Mitchell was having one of his weird, WTF is he doing games. You have to win the ugly ones too although they will have to kick it into gear to keep the streak going.
