John Cleese

I will never look at this community the same way knowing how many of you plebs haven’t watched Monty Python. This is some Shaq level discourse right here
Just want to let you know that not knowing who John cleese is doesn't mean I haven't watched or heard of Monty Python. I have watched monty Python but I have never heard of John cleese and have no idea who he is. Even after reading this thread.
Is he the director of Monty Python? An actor in the movie? Both?

He is one of the actors (the most famous one) who make up the comedy troupe that is Monty Python.

This is him

He is basically the founder of the group, along with

Michael Palin, Eric Idle, and Graham Chapman — and an American, Terry Gilliam

He played headless Nick in the Harry Potter movies. He played Q in a couple of James Bond movies I believe. I think he voiced Fiona's dad in the Shrek movies.

He did a ton in the 80's and some into the 90's. But in the 00's he kind of withdrew, so not surprised some folks don't really recognize him.

This his a few of his roles in Monty Python:

John Cleese makes me laugh. Bill Cosby used to make us all laugh and then...

But John Cleese continues to make me laugh even if he is not 'relevant' or whatever ya'll want to call him. Cleese... TAKE NOTE!

The guy is in his 80's. Mostly does voiceovers for animated stuff at this point. That's the life I would live if I were him.
I wonder if its him or someone tweeting for him. But if his last wish is to see the jazz win a championship, I'm all for it.

John Cleese has done everything from David Lo Pan in Big Trouble in Little China, to Driving Miss Daisy, to the cellmate in The Green Mile, to Magic Mike, to Field of Dreams. It's amazing he isn't a household name.

He was definitely NOT Lo Pan. That was beloved character actor James Wong, playing both the wheelchair-bound version and 8 feet tall with light coming out of his mouth.

I think you’re wrong.

Something something about having to explain a joke. Everyone focusing in on Big Trouble in Little China and not enough emphasis on Driving Miss Daisy and Magic Mike.
