What's new

Elijah Millsap: Lindsey in exit interview: “if u say one more word, I’ll cut your Black *** and send you back to Louisiana”.

People are making too much out of this, and in fact, this kind of crap is what prevents people from solving problems. A comment from six years ago? Was their racist intent? After all, his *** is black. Are we going to now put the same kind of stigma on calling someone black as using the N-word? This has gone too far.

I'm try to be as anti-racist as I can, and I'm always trying to learn, but I'm sure I've said racist things before. Being anti-racist and coming from a diverse background doesnt give you immunity from ever saying the wrong thing. It certainly buys you goodwill and people will be more willing to forgive transgressions, but it doesnt make you immune to doing them.
I agree with you. Up until I recognize who is talking. This is coming from the guy who can't control his tongue more than most posters.

If you want to buy goodwill then I would suggest taking a dose of your own medicine and cleaning up your tone on this board. Until you change your character (not mockingly "having fun" with wives and crosses) then I suggest that you don't get mad about others who said something completely out of character.

I'm so confused.

Has Zanik come forward and said anything? If the allegation is true, then there is a cover up from Lindsey, Snyder and Zanik. Or Millsap is still bitter and wants to cause trouble. Or perhaps whatever was said was blown out of proportion.

Does it matter that Quin Snyder was in the meeting and doesn’t recall Lindsey saying it?
To some people yes.

If Quinn was in the meeting and said Dennis didn't say that then it's different than him saying he doesn't recall him saying that. Why wouldn't Snyder just say he didn't say that?

If the guy has NBA talent virtually every team will be beating a path to his door. I don't buy that blackball angle. He was called up from the GLeague about the same time as Bryce Cotton and Jack Cooley. Both those guys are playing overseas after their lack of NBA talent was apparent.

Careful. There are those in this thread that will point out your weight and potential slobbiness if you try to bring any semblance of balance to the discussion. Cancel culture is HEAVILY defended in this thread. DL must be eviscerated, there is no other option.
I was unaware that one poster constituted "culture".

We can all speculate on this, but we also need to consider the history of DL. No one has ever even suggested he is racist. In fact, he grew up in a multi-racial family. If he did say this, maybe it was said in jest and Millsap misinterpreted it. I think it's telling that no one on the Jazz finds this credible or even conceivable. And if Millsap now says he doesn't believe DL is racist, then why did he bring this up, six years later? It can only be because he has a grudge against the Jazz. So GFY, Elijah Millsap, you a-hole.

"Obviously, I know my truth," Millsap said in an interview with The Associated Press.

This, along with his belief that the Jazz blackballed him are starting to make me feel like this is all made up. Anytime someone says "my truth" instead of "the truth", I become very skeptical. There is no Millsap truth and there is no Dennis Lindsey truth. There is just the truth. If you have to clarify that it is "your truth", you are admitting that there are potential differences between your truth and reality. Very questionable.
I appreciate that you don't understand the phrasing or the language, but instead of trying to understand, you're using that ignorance to prop up your preferred understanding rather than to learn. You could do better.

Because there were WITNESSES that said that it didn't happen.
Has Zanik commented publically? If not, where did you get that plural from (unless you think Lindsey is a witness, as opposed to an accused party, but that has not been your position so far).
