And if I think the Jazz nail something I give them credit... if I think its 50/50 I generally give them the benefit of the doubt. If I think they eff it up I don't just jump on they dick and say how great it is. Its just called having your own opinion.

Niang didn't cost a pick to bring in iirc. Niang had also played less than 100 nba minutes when we brought him in... he was also a over 2 years younger. Matt has had like 700 NBA minutes before coming over. He's much more established than Niang was. He was also still cutting weight and everyone knows that fat is potential in disguise. I doubt Thomas magically learns how to dribble or gets faster or figures out how to be bigger or how to be better at defense or figures out how to get his shot off faster so that guys can't just close hard to him and take away his only nba skill.

If he had come for free then great... give him a try. For a second and taking up a roster spot we needed for a real NBA player... nah.

I'm definitely not toxic positivity. DL made huge mistakes, and they go largely ignored on here in favor of people getting in a bitch fit over 2nd round pick trades.

And yes, Thomas has more minutes and he has had more success. It just ridiculous that people act like the trade had no merit or potential value. If it was a bad trade it was a bad trade, but it's not some huge mistake or something that was destined to fail. I'm not saying you cant have an opinion, just that your opinion is mostly annoying.

Please tell me how Matt Thomas gets on the floor with our current established backcourt players? The last thing we needed was another small guard with bad defense. Matt may find a small role with a team somewhere... how an NBA GM looks at what we need and says he thinks this guy will have a role here is just a little wonky.

When the guy gets cut or we make the mistake of keeping him around another year even though he won't find playing time please come back with this same energy. Its the small annoying mistakes over the years that have added up and hurt DL... this one is pretty relevant since its draft day. Perfectly fine to bring it up.

I realize I have complained about small mistakes the front office made... and flipping one of them doesn't change our world. But flipping a few of them does...

- Drafting TB
- Continually picking up his options when it was clear he wasn't worth the money.
- Drafting Udoka when you were going to pay for a veteran as a backup center.
- Giving 10%-20% too much in multiple contract extensions.
- Not signing a couple vets to go with the G league guys at the end of the bench.
- Giving away a second when you can't avoid the tax because of the mistake you already made.
- Giving away a second for a guy who has no chance of helping you this year (or ever tbh).

Small things that add up.

If the rumors of Knicks and Pacers are remotely true… there is an opportunity to flip Bojan to Indiana for 13 and stuff… then turn around and get 19/21 for 13 while dumping favors. Carlisle hates rookies and they are said to want established players for that pick. The hot rumor is Eric Gordon (went to IU) and 23/24 for 13 and contracts… I would think Bogey and 30 is better but whatevs.

Yeah, I don’t see the Pacers being desperate to reacquire Bogey, certainly not in exchange for a lottery pick. They could have kept him two years ago if they wanted but went with Warren instead.

Well that “look” cost them around 3-4M to date… for that amount of dough they could take a “look” at my ******* and it’d be a better investment.

It also costs them a chance to take a “look” at someone with actual potential to help us at 47. Like maybe Wieskamp is there… he’s a shooter but actually has size and athleticism to survive.

I don’t know how anyone can look at that move and be like “great work… nailed it”. I also don’t know who can look at Tony Bradley and see a poor mans Lamarcus Aldridge either… so I guess we just see things differently sometimes.

How about Queta at 47? We def need another shot blocking center.

Yeah, I don’t see the Pacers being desperate to reacquire Bogey, certainly not in exchange for a lottery pick. They could have kept him two years ago if they wanted but went with Warren instead.

Warren is rumored to be on the block. They also got assets to take Warren… it was quite the deal.

I don’t think they are desperate… they might prefer someone else… I don’t think it’s crazy though.

Based on the Ross and Indiana and NY rumors… I think if we want to get a solid first and cap space for Bogey we should have some opportunities.

Im not sure I’d love that type of deal but if we can parlay Bogey into a couple first and maybe ditch Favs deal… it opens up some stuff for us.

How about Queta at 47? We def need another shot blocking center.

I like Quetta as much or better than Udoka. I think because he’s a better passer.

And honestly… Udoka or Queta in the 40s are solid guys to bet on. Backup centers are solid value in the middle and back half of the second round. No problem with that.

If you look back the biggest FU DL made was two years ago. That was the year of Bradley's coming out party in the Summer Leagues. This was the summer signing of Ed Davis, Jeff Green, Stanton Kidd, William Howard and NWG and the jettisoning of Neto. Two players on that summer league team that were productive were Willie Reed and George King. If DL had just signed these two, kept Neto would we be worse off today? I think we all know the answer to that.

Matt Thomas couldn’t even get the ball off against bench players in garbage time. Dude was a complete waste of a 2nd round pick and he is not needed on the roster. It literally seemed like DL’s final I’m taking my ball and going home move.

Long list of things the Jazz FO did wrong. But they also built a title favorite almost entirely from the margins. Gobert, Mitchell, O’Neale, Ingles….finding those guys are not little things. Those are big things.

People who minimize those things and chalk it up to luck aren’t much different than Locke slurping the FO no what. Just blindly pushing narratives one way or the other. The only real difference is that Locke is doing it from Hawaii which is paid for by the organization.

I could see Carlisle wanting Bogey, so him coming on board could change things, but I think it would be a touch sell to the fan base. They are like us and wanting younger, longer, athletic, defensive minded wings.
