Politicians are Birds.

We are having a crisis here at JFC. The Universe is coming apart at the seams. Life as we know it is coming to an end. One Brow is turning back into a Christian who knows who Jehovah is.

Truth is emerging from the primordial muck.

Biden re-nominated a capitalist to run our banking.

People are realizing we don't have enough copper to make all the electric cars we want, or enough nickel. Or silver for solar power. But never mind all that. What we need is less people. We can do that.

All I have to say is that Politicians are birds, with the poop to prove it on every windshield, on every MAGA hat and every vagina hat too.

Serious question: what is the worst thing that would happen if people went extinct? Is there any intrinsic value in a human being, and if so what is it? We are destructive by nature. If the goal is the save the world shouldn't the process include eradicating the humans, since they are the most destructive species? Why are we concerned about propagating our species at all anyway?

Solar Power.

I got an ad today about solar power in Nevada. Said incentives exist to fund your conversion 100% and reduce your electric bill to around 16%

I remember when turtles were the reason not to drive ATVs off into the Joshua forests or creosote brush ,let alone send poor starving cows out into the scorching barren rocks. Then some Chinese guys with smiles took Harry Reid out to lunch. Good old Harry. He sold a million acres of pristine turtle heaven to those Chines folks. I think if you go to official Chinese diners, not owned by Hong Kong refugees but by real Shanghai Commies, you can get yourself some turtle soup.

And the desert shines for miles with solar panels. The glare disturbs the drivers on the freeway. Well, dammit, ya gotta keep your eyes on the black road, or you'll be blinded by the light.

Solar panels on house roofs, or business roofs, are arguably better placed, but still, all this has gotta be ruining Nature somehow.

Not enough silver to solarize the world. Gotta reduce the people.

Well, we could have wars. Dammit, we need oil to burn to do that. Lots of oil. Bombs are made from oil and steel. TNT. the last T is for "toluene", from oil. Does anyone know where the N comes from? No, not the bad word "N", the good word...... nitrogen. It's 78% of our air, but hardly any of it is oxidized. That would be air pollution. But in a bomb it's "the good stuff". It's the "BOOM" in the bomb. The way we get that BOOM from the air we breathe????? Well, OK. Oil. We rob the hydrogen outta the oil, then use it make ammonia by reaction with nitrogen. Then we use ammonia to make the nitrates we want to go BOOM.

Some guys are starting a business to use the hydrogen in oil to run our cars. Burns clean, gives water not CO2. A lot simpler than all that electric jazz. Use the carbon to make stuff that's strong and light and build light cars. Sounds good. Use the carbon to get metals like steel and copper outta the rocks. We just use the oil wastefully to do that now.

I think we need a new vision for the Green Revolution. Copper is green sometimes when it "rusts", and it's pretty. But solar and wind power are inefficient and resource-limited. If we go that way, it means globalism will be less people, living in dire conditions. That's really a "gangrene revolution":

Politicians get everything all wrong. You can count on it, like poop in your hair and poop on your sandwich from the seagulls overhead. But more directly, the Politicians here are the big poopers. Politicians are the Birds. They fly everywhere, squawk on the airwaves, spoil your picnic.

Most politicians start out as lawyers, and that's bad enough a start. A politician is a bad lawyer gone public.

These are birds you definitely should NOT feed.

God reportedly has taken the opposite position on this question, arguably.

Some might argue that I am making the case here that humans are all basically innate lawyers and politicians, and that therefore my positiion is equivalent to yours.

One of my favorite radio programs is "The Imagination Station" on the BBN. Bible Broadcast Network.

Wo what would this Universe be without Imagination?

The capacity of humans to question their own value is probably not really unique in Nature, but we can at least articulate the issue in a sort of code others among us can respond to with semi=cognitive re-burblings on the subject.

The existence of "value" requires the existence of a Valuer. We can ascribe that position to some unknown or unknowable Absolute Authority, or we can be pure sociopaths presuming to possess the true values, or to be in ourselves the very definition of "value". Actually, I imagine, there are infinite variations spreading in all directions whereby we can imagine we have value or significance, or no value or no significance.

I’ve never understood why it’s called a ***** hat or vagina hat. It’s clearly a uterus hat. The only stretch (no pun intended) is if it’s a cervix hat based on how you wear it. In any case, both frames of reference would leave the “*****” or vagina to be the wearer’s face.

I think it's implying that the wearer is a dick.

I used to be against abortions up until I realized how many people I'd be OK without.

I guess we have a problem with a lot of folks today having more materialist beliefs and fewer spiritual aspirations. I think the issue here is love more than value. Christians believe God made us. One of my favorite songs has a line "He loved me ere I knew HIm" as a praisefor a God who loves otherwise worthlessj people.

I am a Mormon, of sorts. A lot of Mormons would make me out as pretty damned worthless. But I understand their religion while they do not.

Marxists have a religion too. They believe in an ideal of human progress that will, inevitably and through endless revolutionary phases, reach some sort of ideal of social justice or whatever. Some of the features of Marxism don't really line out with a positive value on humans who are not useful to the process.

Mormons are not like Christians or Marxists. Few Mormons understand their philosophical basis. Joseph Smith did not believe in a Biblical creation of man by an Absolute Creator who spoke and created us out of nothing. He came to teach that we are an eternal essence of nature, an "intelligence" sort of cognitive branch of the General Equation of Relativity. That we have existed along with God in an eternal back story somehow. We have self-existing value that cannot be destroyed. Existence on non-material terms, so to speak, if materialism is circumscribed by what we think we can examine with science as we know it.

It could be argued that this view also, like Marxism, does not line out a positive value for humans who are not useful to the process.

But the briefly sketched ideas of Joseph Smith beg for further development, which is my hobby more or less. But the founding precepts are basically that "intelligence", poorly defined, must embrace notions of caring and observing, learning...... of seeking..... of making purposed efforts to examine and transform the world around us somehow, for the better.

In this view, Life is not an accident, but the jproduct of organized cognition and action upon the inanimate stuff around us, which we have purpsed to use for some perceived benefit to ourselves and our peers.

God is then more of a Leader in a revolutionj to transform the universe to a better condition.

The presumptions of Mormonism are that we have intrinsic value, and innate "rights". The essence of intelligence is choice and capacity to make effective actions we want to make.

An Authoritarian world view that devalues humans or other Life is the antithesis of Christ.

God loved us, and gave us the advantages he could offer from His point of view. He gave us a place in a the universe of physical Life, an existence in another order of things we couldn't have reached directly on our own. You could say He invented a Wheel, and then gave us a spin on it. Kinda fun. Never knew how fun it could be.

Other more or less Christian beliefs don't have the same end-game scenario, either. Nothing gets absolutely destroyed. Like clay on the potters' wheel, if things don't turn out right, it's back to where we used to be. Some people call that hell, I wonder. Is it some kindof trip through a black hole into another world? Essentially, still an intelligence with the same value we could imagine God placed on us when he took us in.

Is it worth learning what principles we could live by to be with God in His further developments.

Taking this all to another level of argument, I say whether God exists or not, I have the same conscience, the same responsibility for my actions, the same purpose for my life and whatever existence I will ever have. If I have imagined a God who is good, I have polaced my values so that I should seek those things anyway.

The critical choice theory here is that we can make choices, and that there can be consequences to those choices. Maybe it has meaning, maybe not. Maybe someone else will care, maybe not. I reject the theories that I am powerless, or valueless, or meaningless. I respect all the living creatures I know or can imagine. Life has meaning. All Life exhibits some level of intelligence, some level of interest or purpose, and has intrinsic value. I imagine it has taken a whole damn lot of work to create it, even the least of creatures, even a virus.

Coherence to a presumed master plan of progress is not a good value, All living things have innate value, and "rights". The idea of clearing the ground to make way for a "better" or more valued life is really unnecessary, we just need to make aj place for what we want.

Life is always limited by circumstances, resources, conditions, forces of Nature. It will always be necessary to make a place for Life. Gather resources, transform the environment. That's what real Progress is. New worlds.

It's free tuition. At the Master's feet.

God loved us ere we knew Him, all my love is to Him.

The renomination of Powell as the Fed chief is huge. I saw an interview with a long-time Fed employee who called it "Historic". She basically said that Biden/Biden's Groupies, farted on AOC and the Green Revolution, and that the US would take a sound financial course. Huge downer for inflation here.

Next we will have Joe Biden not signing Pelosi bills, and Pelosi smiling inside her face mask. I think it just started to look like a bridge too far. Maybe another decade, but not now.

I went over to see what was up with the Lobsters. Mods, please combine that thread with this one. Same subject. What comprises Sentient Beings.

Jesus and Joseph Smith both said rocks would cry out if we failed to glorify God. The Earth in scripture a sentient being. Animism is aboriginal religion. Animals and rocks have spirits. Mormonism too.

Birds and Polticians are not. They do not feel pain, they do not learn. Nobody loves them, and they don't care.

Are we more destructive than termites or army ants?

How many species have they directly driven extinct?
If I had money to put down I'd say humans are the all time champs at wiping out other species.

But I think as an "intelligent" species we are still toddlers, at best.

We may have value but we're still have a lot of growing up to do before we could even know that.
