Al Attles was a defensive specialist who actually had probably the best offensive game of his career, going 8-8 from the field.
He scored 33 (also against the Knicks). He was coaching when Rick Barry scored 64 and was in the arena when Klay scored 60.
Still, 8 for 8 is impressive.
I don't remember who said that about Wilt, tho, and it's probably apocryphal. Still sounds good.
