H2H regular season games are pretty much are meaningless in predicting playoff matchups.
Ah, so watching Phoenix exploit us last year very specifically with CP/DB midrange and/or Ayton lobs, accompanied by our collapses and inability to hang in close games and OTs in highly anticipated games doesn’t have any relevance to how we’d play them in the post-season? That’s a huge relief because here I’ve been complaining about all those weaknesses that we haven’t / won’t / can’t address and now that I know they’re meaningless helps me breath a sigh of relief and can be reassured by our HISTORIC offense.

Go team.

True but Portland sucks butt.
We could lose to the Washington Generals. That wouldn’t even be the worst part. The worst part is the rationalization and normalization of “oh, yeah… you don’t know any of the guys on the Generals so it’s soooo hard to game plan for that. And the Generals are going to get up and play their A game against a great NBA squad. These games happen all the time to great teams. I mean, it’s expected. This is nothing to worry about. I’m more worried about whether or not my toast will be dry tomorrow.”

I think Portland is about to shut up shop… who knows… dame could go bonkers… I don’t see porty as a “bounce back” scenario. I think I could see us missing shots and having a low energy stinker… a pat yourself on the back narrative “ hey all you want is a split… winning on the road is tough… mission accomplished”.

I think we played well tonight. It really helped that they missed a lot too… thought we were mostly focused… some rough officiating too.

You see, your concerns aren’t built off of 2 games against the Suns (we had a bunch of people out the last game). They’re built over a long period of time and that’s why they’re legitimate. They’re not going to go away if we happen to win.

Anything can happen in a few games, especially in the regular season. If the Jazz happen to beat the Warriors or the Suns, it’s not really going to change my opinion on things. I don’t think we’re learning anything about the Jazz and the Suns in particular. Almost the exact same rosters and neither team has changed how they play. We’re not going to learn anything about these teams and definitely not if we’re just looking at results.

Warriors have a lot of changes and it’ll be interesting to see how the teams play. But you can guarantee that whatever the Warriors game plan is now will be much less detailed than it will be with proper planning/personnel in a playoff series.

This is all without mentioning the covid situation.

Nice to see us string together some stops this game. I do enjoy watching actual effort on Defense. I'm not sure why the Jazz don't think defensive effort is important at home?

What is the significance of Rudy punching himself in the nuts six times while celebrating JC's basket? I mean I've heard of self-flagelation for JC, but he's doing it for the wrong JC. View attachment 11494

I think you are joking but in case you are serious he was simulating dribbling a basketball through the legs.

Our head to heads against Phoenix and GSW will determine a lot. However, I believe they’ll be the kind of games we get destroyed (like how we were swept by Phoenix last year) and certain influencers will talk like the regular season bad showings are meaningless in predicting potential playoff matchup.
I think those were close games but I could be wrong. I know one of those games was overtime which I wouldn't log into the destroyed category.

I mean basically Quin sucks, our jerseys suck, our announcers suck, our bench sucks, our starters suck, our defense is simply horrid, our offense is gimmicky, our front office sucks, we suck worse than Indiana Orlando New Orleans and any other team we have lost to, the suns and warriors have already won the championship this season (they are co champs) and we have no chance against them. Might as well wave the white flag and sell the team to another city so we aren't force to watch this crap organization any more.

Beginning to think a Quin-coached team can't get there.
Just beginning? I have to fight with myself all the time around this issue. I mean I want to believe, I really do. He doesn’t have the recent history, he doesn’t have the pedigree and yet we did have the best regular season record in the entire NBA last season.

As Str8line responded, it’s really the scar tissue from playoff collapses that is the biggest buzz kill. If it were my team, I think he would have been gone a long time ago but it’s not so I have to do my best to stay positive. The way I do that is by looking at the Bucks model. Coach Bud hadn’t really won anything before either. That and the fact that Snyder was his assistant in Atlanta. Maybe we’re next to get the monkey off our backs. Well that’s what I keep telling myself anyway.
