You guys are pushing this thread off the rails. Can you move it to a Cy argues with LoPo thread?
You got some strange obsession with me dude.A weasel is one who won't admit mistakes. Avoids the truth. Hides behind other excuses.
Your boy Conley screwed over the Rudy era. Hold him accountable. Quit scapegoating Donovan.
But you'll still weasel away from the truth - you were wrong about the worst trade in franchise history. A team on the brink of title contention spends all assets on an over the hill PG.

Nah. Either admit it or lie. I'm not wasting my time

Bruh, it's Lopo arguing with me. I did not engage with this weasel. You guys are pushing this thread off the rails. Can you move it to a Cy argues with LoPo thread?
I think the Knicks fans understand this isn't the right time. They don't have the assets and have too many bad contracts. Adding Don would need to be a package deal. Trade for Don and add a player in free agency.Pretty interesting. They are much more patient and measured than I think Knicks management might be.
Basically they are saying to wait until 2025 FA class... that seems waaaaaayyyy too patient for NY.
They did mention that they'd have to pay a premium because he has 3 years left instead of 2... which seems obvious to me but some disagree. The last point is kinda the issue for NY... if Donovan is ready to leave and we move him somewhere else then who are they waiting for and they will have likely missed their window. I think the mega package with all the unprotected picks I laid out is not something they would offer... I think a real package hinges on them getting a top 4 pick so they could give that up with 1 other pick and the Dallas pick... plus like Toppin and Quickley (and cap fodder).
The other thing they hit on is getting Donovan in the door now may open up the possibility to get the second star.
Brian Windhorst reporting that the Raptors could make Pascal Siakam available for trade. I could see a three-team deal where Raptors get Rudy, Blazers get Siakam, and Jazz get Portland's lotto pick, plus a pick from Toronto.
Yeah, but if the first shoe that drops is Gobert being traded for a lotto pick and no starter player back, you got to assume they are doing God's Work and trading Donovan. If the Jazz trade Rudy that likely means that they are going to build the team around Donovan and try to stay as competitive as they possibly can. I don't see them trading Rudy just for picks, they're going to want a package of players and picks in return. I do think they would have interest in Siakam though.
Tim McMahon said as much with Spence. They would only be interested in what players they could trade those picks for… basically we are thinking 30 days in advance when we should be planning long term. This thing is doomed to fail in the most stupid fashion possible. Which would be another reason to tank… cuz it’s most just losing which should come easy and then hopefully getting lucky. If the Jazz trade Rudy that likely means that they are going to build the team around Donovan and try to stay as competitive as they possibly can. Let's just pray that Rudy gets traded to an entertaining team with championship hopes so we can supplement the pain of watching a 40 win Donovan Mitchell team with some Gobert playoff wins.Tim McMahon said as much with Spence. So the Knicks fans are smarter than us? I mean take Rudy off the team and we are likely in the same tier as the Knicks sans Donovan.I think the Knicks fans understand this isn't the right time. I think next summer is the play for them. They can use this season to play the youth and trade the vets for any assets they can. Next summer, if Don wants out, they go after him and try to sign a buddy like Jaylen Brown to join him.
If Don is happy here, NY can still play the youth and build over time. This summer isn't the right time.

We will end up being a play in tournament team. Hopefully Donovan’s value doesn’t crater and we hit on the 5% odds of moving up or whatever they are.
And you need to realize that many of the things you say are nonsense. We play a VERY modern style of basketball. We were the top offensive team in basketball during the regular season… there isn’t a lot more we can improve on there and trading Mike or Bogey or Rudy likely hurts us on offense… whatever defensive improvements we make on the wing have a low chance of making up for the defensive loss of Rudy… and all the dumb faith in the world ain’t changing that ****.Those particular fans might be.
Most everybody on this forum thinks we are destined to suck if we lose Rudy regardless of what we get for him, what we get for others, who coaches us, etc. Yalls minds are made up.
Not only do I know we can be as good next year without Rudy, I think we will be more enjoyable to watch and have a brighter future.
You guys need more faith and have more of an open mind. It's crazy how yall can pin your hopes on tanking and a 14% chance of winning the lottery than take a chance with a 25 year old 3 time All Star and switching to a modern style of basketball.

It would warm my heart to see Rudy's league leading defense bring a team playoff wins, wherever that might happen.Let's just pray that Rudy gets traded to an entertaining team with championship hopes so we can supplement the pain of watching a 40 win Donovan Mitchell team with some Gobert playoff wins.
I truly think Rudy would be a dominating beast with Golden State. I'd probably have to watch their games. It would warm my heart to see Rudy's league leading defense bring a team playoff wins, wherever that might happen.
Lopo is fascinated with a one dimensional offensive middleweight vs a literal generational defensive talent. Generational? It might go beyond that. Rudy is a one of a kind defensive player.
It may not translate for the ESPN highlight NBA fans out there, but Rudy is the Jazz MVP and it isn't close.
Our #1 regular season offense might be the most worthless stat of them all. Really paid off when the playoffs came around.....And you need to realize that many of the things you say are nonsense. Can anyone tell me why Duncan Robinson isnt playing at all?
Kind of insane he had a crazy as **** Game 1 in the first round where he was a +16, then the Heat just bench him. Was his defense really that bad?
There'll be plenty where Brunson has to put up a terrible shot or back out of the paint entirely. You can't ever force 0% shooting.Well, a simple Google search of Brunson on Rudy in our series shows multiple videos where Brunson isos on Rudy, gets Rudy to the paint, toys with Rudy, then finishes.
I don't see anyone saying nothing was Gobert's fault.I'm just sick and tired of watching all of the Jazz fail defensively come playoff time then gradually the narrative changes to Rudy played awesome and nothing was his fault.
You can choose to not respond.Bruh, it's Lopo arguing with me. I did not engage with this weasel.
I dont have that kind of willpower. You can choose to not respond.
I didn't find any offensively limited center in the history of the game worth $40 million in any era at any age. There'll be plenty where Brunson has to put up a terrible shot or back out of the paint entirely. You can't ever force 0% shooting.
I don't see anyone saying nothing was Gobert's fault.
Did you come up with an offensively challenged center worth $40M when they were under 30 yet?
