Spida Questioning Jazz front office moves?

They said this in the article:

Speaking Wednesday on Brian Windhorst & The Hoop Collective, ESPN NBA insider Brian Windhorst said Mitchell essentially asked Jazz higher-ups what their plan was after trading away two key players primarily for draft picks.

Yet provided nothing more as evidence of this. No quotes no nothing. Sounds like pure speculation to me. One of those "well this is a lot of stuff going on at the Jazz, Mitchell must be concerned" kind of things.

Sorry, you mean the guy that basically called the Gobert trade?
I think Gobert or Mitchell being traded were the worst kept secrets in the NBA. This has been on everyone's minds and twitter feeds for weeks now, ever since we dropped out of the playoff there has been talk of one of them, or both, being traded. This is not some savant move that shocked everyone.

Windy is annoying and condescending... he is also right a lot. Not just on this (his full prophesy has not been fulfilled yet)... he stuck his neck out about Harden going to Philly when everyone said it was dead... he is very good and knowledgeable.

"Core Players"

21-22
Conley, Don, Royce, Bojan, Gobert, Clarkson - #5 Seed in the West

22-23 (as of now)
Don, Conley, Beverley, Beasley, Bojan, Vanderbilt, Clarkson

Beverley is an improvement on Royce.
We didn't have a player like Vanderbilt last year.
Beasley and Clarkson are similar, but we did get more offense/shooting.

Yes, we lost one of our two best players, but it's not like we traded Rudy Gobert for scrubs. We added the two best perimeters we've had in since 2018 Crowder and Ingles.
Yet with 2018 Crowder and Ingles we finished 5th in the west and got knocked out in the first round, and that was with a newly minted 2x DPOY anchoring the middle. Now we don't have even a shell of that. So we got our Crowder and Ingles back (arguably worse, but whatever, call it equal) and lost a major force. I think if we go back to that 18-19 team and sub in Vanderbilt or Kessler and we get significantly worse. That is essentially what we have right now. So not a playoff team for sure. Something else has to change or we just took a significant step backward if we stand pat, waiting for all those picks in the mid-20's to pay off in the next 5 years.

At the end of the day, Donovan will probably get traded even though that wasn't what he went into this offseason wanting. After all this speculation that he was leaving or gonna leave or wanting out, none of that was true. Ainge is going to send him out even though he didn't want to be traded at this time.

Goes against the entire narrative so many of you have been spinning.

So many of who? There have been 2 vocal advocates of Mitchell asking out, which is all blatant speculation, just like there have been 2 of you defending him ad nauseum. None of the 4 of you are remotely close to reality.

At least Mitchell has made contact with the FO. My biggest worry was that there was really 0 line of communication.

We assume, and hope. No real evidence of it yet. Just the "build up and tear down" quote from Mitchell so far.

Has there been a single vocal person speculating that Mitchell wants out/has asked out?

I think all the speculation is that he will want out or ask out in the future, so it's in the Jazz's best interest to get ahead of those demands to maximize value since we arent in position to build a proper team to satisfy Mitchell's (I would assume) high standards.

All franchise players would be unsettled by the fact that his team is heading towards a rebuild. And whether or not he wanna be here is also kinda irrelevant at this point. It's up to the management

Any time there are big moves going on all players should wonder what the direction of the team is. New very young coach, traded a very good player hopefully to remove tension/toxicity from the locker room, traded a starter. What's next, where is the team going. It's a fair question.

My question is whether the questions are directed at the front office, and if so why does it seem that it's leaked out to media hawks? Was he given an answer that wasn't satisfactory? Are the media people just guessing, or are they getting smoke from somewhere? Are these possible leaks intentional to push for some wanted end goal... whether that be a trade or big moves to bring in a legit playoff team to get past the 1st round? I'd have the same questions right back at any of the players. All are fair. I'm questioning the goals of Spida, Conley, pretty much every player.

I also think there is questioning as in looking for an answer, and "questioning" as in doubting. Which is it?

So you're going to sit there and type that a majority of this forum doesn't feel like Don has been trying to work his way out of here or has planned to work his way out of here over the last year+?

Yes. @Ferguson_Mellochill

I do not think the majority feel that way. I think the majority feel he will move on at some point but not that he has been specifically planning to move on or trying to move out over the last year. I think that idea really got planted when the media started reporting it just a few months ago, and a few vocal idiots took it and ran with it.

The majority of this forum doesn't even post. I don't even think the majority of the people that do post are that strong on an opinion. I think in general we really really like DM. We as a forum in general also want a player to want to be here. Clearly the players in the past that refused to come here have caused some skepticism/wounds to be here for at least many of the vocal fans.

I still think a huge majority of Jazz fans fully support DM and want him here.

I think that's become less and less true.
