Trade Rumors Involving the Jazz

If the Jazz can turn Bogey into nearer 1st rounders and still find a way to get some 1st round stuff from the Lakers with our leftovers, then that's an offseason well done.

What would be most ideal is if we end up shipping Bojan out for a first and something that we can parlay into other assets (like Crowder) and then the Lakers end up coming back at some point later in desperation and give us the return we were looking for on Bojan, but instead hand over the bag for Conley, Clarkson and Beasley.

I can dream, at least.

Bojan to PHX for Crowder and a pick.
Crowder and Gay to Miami for Robinson and pick.
Mike, Jordan and Malik to LAL during the season for teh whole bag.

I think we could do a multi-team deal where Crowder/Saric end up with the Lakers (along with Beasley/NAW) and we land one of the LA picks.

Adding 2 more picks without some onerous salary leaves us with an amazing amount of flexibility (your favorite).

I do think we should look around and see that Indiana and SA both tried to do deals like OKC has in the past few years where they take back bad salary for picks... and haven't found anything. I am not sure those opportunities will be there in this cap environment.

Windhorst says several teams are bidding for Bogey right now, and he wouldn't be surprised if the Suns get involved in negotiations.

Unprotected LAL picks far in the future are some of the best assets out there right now, but I don't think PHX picks are far behind. This team seems incredibly fragile to me. CP3 is old and by 25-26 he will probably be gone, Devin Booker very well might request a trade, Ayton is pissed off at their owner... well... I guess everybody is pissed off at him now... This team is primed for disintegration, similar to how we disintegrated... If we can get PHX 25 pick unprotected or lightly protected... I'd do that deal.

Bogey for Saric and Crowder and a top 4 protected 2024 pick. We re-route Crowder to Memphis (and throw in JB or another small salary... could work in NAW and it will give us some tax room) for Danny Green and some seconds (or if they want to take Rudy Gay we can forget the seconds).

Saric is a guy that can show he's healthy and be moved at the deadline potentially.

Also Woj threw some cold water on when the "double draft" could be. If it lands in 2025 or 2027 then holy ****.
I still want another ‘24 pick. I would really prefer to frontload this rebuild than continue to backload it.

Also, the mere mention that the DD could be ‘24 is enough for me to give a little extra priority, and the cold water might be enough to allow the Jazz to get a ‘24 pick (it might not be possible if it was known that was the DD).

Saric+Crowder+24 1st might be a little rich for Bogey. There are probably some who prefer Crowder over Bogey to begin with. I think we take Shamet back in some capacity and maybe get more in picks. PHX feels like a good JC destination too.

I think you may be right. I think crowder wants out based on the smoke coming from Phoenix. My reasons for hope was John Gambadoro in Phoenix mentioned one first may not be enough for Bogey… so maybe expiring plus a first is good enough… depends on how they value shamet and Dario. My guess is they’d prefer to send Shamet. I’m fine taking Shamet and maybe we can add Gay and Craig to the deal. I don’t care much about grabbing some extra seconds but I’d do Bogey for Crowder Shamet and a 24 first… plus some seconds in like 27/28/29. Crowder would get rerouted for seconds or maybe a first if we took on ****** salary or added some other players… I think we need to prune the roster a bit this week. Can wait to move JC and Mike.

If phoenix will do two frps for JC and Bogey I’d do that all day but I doubt they’d go that far.

Kind of hard at this point given nearly everyone has a full roster. Jazz will likely be waiving at least one player.
The size of the contracts we are trading will almost sure require 1 for 2 type deals.

Johnson can be moved into someone's TPE and JB likely gets moved/cut. I could also see a Rudy Gay buyout situation coming. Other possibilities would be Bolmaro sneaking into an outgoing deal or Doke getting cut (if he isn't healthy or has a set back).

Right now they have to cut at least two

The more players they add up, the more they'll need to cut. At what point It gets pointless to acquire players as we're cutting them before they become assets ? Not really far from that.

This all still just makes me wonder: how the hell did we get a 1st rounder for Royce O'Neale?
Because he's a really good player for a contender who needs shooting/defense without any added usage.

Also up until last season he played really well in the playoffs ever year. He's a career 40% 3pt shooter in the playoffs over 40 games, and that's with him being pretty bad last season only shooting 28%.

Contract size and length helped too. It was still a great deal because we got a late first while taking back zero salary. I would have expected Royce to get a first but would require us taking back some salary to do it.
