I’m so glad the NFL is almost back. Personally, I’m good on basketball for a while. Thank god the sports doldrums are almost finished.

Talk about the best sport here.

Summer can be a sports void. It was okay when I followed Nascar since their season is so long, but I've lost interest. Jazz Basketball and Utah teams college football is about all that gets my attention now. And a few tennis matches.

But Jazz basketball is number one. Still will be, even with the rebuild.

Luckily I’m a Braves fan, I watch every game, and other than the first two months of the season it’s been a blast to follow. The Braves have the top two candidates for ROY and an mvp candidate and finally caught the Mets tonight for a share of first place in the NL east. Excited for tray Lance and the 49ers season and the beginning of the a great rebuild for the jazz.

Less than 10 wins is a bad season for my Eagles. We had nine wins last year and have added a ton. AJ Brown replaces Jalen Reagor, who was recently traded and was an abomination last year, as a starter. We also added Pascal who will be our 4th wideout.

On defense we’ve added Jordan Davis and Nakobe Dean through the draft, Hassan Reddick (23.5 sacks the last two years) through FA, Brandon Graham (missed all of 2021 season for us), Kyzir White (7th in NFL in tackles last year) and two d backs in Bradberry and CGJ who are pro bowl caliber.

And who did we lose? Literally no one of significance.

And oh yeah, Roseman just restructured a few deals the last couple days and we now have 10M in cap space, presumably for a Kareem Hunt trade.

Basically, we’re loaded. Chemistry and egos could certainly be an issue. Especially for a younger head coach like Sirianni. But I think we go 12-5 or 13-4 and get the 2 seed in the NFC and lose in the NFC Championship game. To the semi surprising Packers.

Lot of people are high on them. Plus their division might be the worst in the nfl. Jalen Hurst has being going quite high in fantasy drafts and i just read that their running back is healthy now too.

I expect them to do well.

Commanders has to be the dumbest name for a sports team. Every team I hear it I crack up.
You can call them the Commies though, so thats fun.
Ya, what a horrible name.

I just cant get back into football. It was a big thing with my family (my dad played college) so I watched it when I was a kid and I enjoyed it (the Saints were very good then).

Now I watch football and it just bores the **** out of me.

Redzone was a game changer for me as far as watching NFL.
Its the greatest invention in sports history. Red Zone is perfect. And the guy who narrates/runs Red Zone is the best in the business. He should be getting paid really well as I dont think anyone could do a better job. And I find it weird that football bores Cy. I feel like the NFL is the best its ever been right now. So so good. Seems like they have got instant replay figured out and working perfectly, they have penalties figured out as well in regards to targeting and things like that (players have adjusted to the rules well). Just such a great product. And fantasy football is so fun as well.

Similar for me. I used to be a die hard colts and Oregon ducks fan and never missed a game. But slowly started losing interest for various reasons and now just don't really care to watch. I still keep track of the box scores, and watch the Superbowl but that's about it. If there was a really big game and friends were watching I would watch with them but not interested more than that. It's great though, freed up a lot of time wasted. Pretty much all I watch sports wise now is some big games and most Jazz games but usually on delay. Although last year I probably only watched half of them. I used to feel obligated to watch a ton of sports for my job but it's not that important.

So I've been watching a lot of Premier League Football the past 2 years and really enjoyed it. With the NFL season starting the major difference I see is the width of the fields. Why are NFL fields so narrow? I feel like the game could be a lot more exciting with receivers running & leaping and quarterbacks running around, etc.

Also I would think more complex plays could be drawn up having the extra width to play with.

Anyone know why they don't consider making the fields wider?

Sounds like a good idea but just guessing here
Would have to tear down every football stadium in USA to make the field wider
NFL College High School etc
Would cost billions if not more
