Official Utah/Minnesota/Philadelphia Pick Watch

Nets hired Jacque Vaughn as HC. Very conservative move, when they had a perfect chance to implode completely.

Well I guess we can still hope for Lakers and Nets trading your problem for my problem, to cause further disarray.

If not for the Kyrie drama, Udoka would have been the guy.

Wait, Brooklyn didn’t hire Udoka?

I think they'll figure it out and get better.
When people talk about "winning culture" the Wolves are on the losing culture poster. They thought you could just parachute in a star and BAM! You got winning culture. It really doesn't work that way. Expect them to continue to struggle.

And it showed with one of the best offenses, if not the best, for years running, and even with Rudy at the top of the league for ORTG for years as well. If only we had a single other player give a single **** about defense we could be looking at a totally different story right now with our stars still here and a banner to boot. Woulda coulda shoulda.
It was only a good offense when teams didn't have the time to game plan against it in the regular season. Once the playoffs came around and teams were actually able to focus it started to bog down quite a bit and Quin was incapable of making adjustments on either end of the court. To be fair though the front office was mediocre when it came to adding pieces to allow us to be more dynamic on both ends as well.

Also, replace D-lo on that team with Conley and the Wolves are much, much better. They Need a player to do their thinking for them on offense.

Yes, as much as I am enjoying Conley now, he was the absolute wrong piece to add, and added at the wrong time. We needed a dynamic wing or big defensive-minded guard to put along-side Mitchell. That really derailed things as it made our back court way too small and incapable of defending really at all. His injuries surely didn't help anything. The front office was bad at team-building around our stars. They should have been competing for a ring, not bowing out in crappy fashion in the first round. And Quin absolutely lost it as a coach. I think he just checked out, maybe too many personal issues going on, but he completely lost the team last year too.

They should have pushed for that swap in the initial Gobert deal but now we should have no interest in helping them out.

We should've pursued CP3 instead of Conley tbh.

There is a poll going around on Twitter and Reddit asking Jazz fans if they would reverse the Gobert trade if we still got to keep the picks. Basically would you trade Vanderbilt, Beasley, Kessler and THT for Gobert.

It has over a thousand votes combined and like 80% said they wouldn’t take Gobert back even if we got to keep the picks still. Wild as ****.

People are dumb and extremely overreactive to small sample sizes. I would love to have Gobert back on this team. Especially if we only had to give up those players (no picks).

Damn. I was really hoping the Nets would hire Udoka, only to have to "suspend" him due to backlash a week from now, causing more turmoil.

Although, it's not like attempting to hire him wasn't a gong show to begin with.

This. I have already gone on the record saying that if we had just done the Mitchell trade and not done the Gobert trade we would be automatic contenders.

lol, yeah i'd take that deal in a heartbeat and i might be Vando's biggest fan on the planet.

markkanen in the frontcourt with rudy. yeah, i'd take that.

I would have liked that scenario, also. That said, the picks that we got out of that deal are getting better every day.
Yeah the way this is working out it is looking a lot better for us than we imagined, and not for the reasons we thought it would. It is a real reversal right now. We are doing well and the lottery pick looks like it will come from the Wolves, and not vice versa as was expected. Crazy, but incredibly fun season so far.

I do feel bad for Rudy. I kind of feel like we did him dirty, especially with the loyalty he had shown. I get it is a business and if it gets us a ring, then I will call it a rousing success, but I still feel bad for the guy. He deserves better.

What you do is you hope Minnesota completely implodes and gets in a panic thinking about Rudy’s contract. You get all the other guys to point the finger at Rudy, to where Minnesota thinks they have to trade Rudy to keep the other guys. Swoop in at the deadline and relieve them of the long-term salary burden and offer them one of their picks back.

The funny thing is that I don't think I would even do that trade. Rudy just clogs things up way too much and that salary is better used elsewhere in the future. I like having a team with spacing everywhere on the floor and bigs that are really good passers.

The Jazz play with Jared Vanderbilt and Walker Kessler. Rudy can play with this team just fine.
