FIFA WORLD CUP 2022

As long as the US beats Iran in five days, they advance. The game vs England doesn’t matter.

That said, assuming we will simply beat Iran is a big mistake.

LOL .. Iran just whipped Wales’ *** while US had only drew them.. so yes it would still be a mistake …
 
Wow Kane is playing. Even if it might not matter in the scheme of things I think US wants a result from this game to give them some confidence going into the Iran game.
 
Tonight's games

Serbia v Cameroon (the serbs should win)

South Korea v Ghana (Gotta pick the Koreans for the W)

Brazil v Switzerland (I reckon it will be a draw or 2-1 to Brazil)

Portugal v Uruguay (Portugal by a couple Uruguay aren't doing anything this World Cup.)

I watched the first two games last night, I'd forgotten that Ayew plays for Ghana, when he was younger he was considered one of the best young wing players in the world, he looked proper class. The Koreans played match as they always do, technically they're not at the level of the Japanese but they are much more aggressive. Kind of like the difference between Uruguay and Argentina. I think Ghana and Portugal will advance from group H.

Serbia and Cameroon was a belter too, Rigobert Song is a legend in Cameroon he's got his lads playing with real heart. I'd be shocked if Serbia advance, Brazil might rest a bunch of players against Cameroon, if Cameroon beat Brazil by 2 goals and Serbia and Switzerland draw they can make the last 16. At the moment tho, the second spot in group G is wide open.

The Senegal v Ecuador game tonight will be one to watch, who is going to score for Senegal? Who is going to stop Valencia on one good leg from scoring? Senegal on paper have the better team but they both have everything to play for.

Group B offers some real entertainment tonight, unfortunately at 6am. England v Wales is a proper grudge match, the Welsh need to win to have a glimmer of hope to advance, the Poms goal difference should see them through regardless. And then there is the game between Iran and the USA, who said sport and politics should mix, winner advances to second round, loser goes home, if they draw and the Welsh win? They both go home! Excellent.
 
How in the world is Ghana supposed to be the lowest ranking team in this World Cup is beyond me. They are littered with solid Premier League players. Partey, Lamptey, Ayew, Amartey. etc.. they are a very dangerous team if can make it through to the round of 16.

Why does the US coach continue to not play Reyna?

All told good night of football.

We play the Danes tonight, I hope we ****ing get the W, the second round has never been so close, its almost like its 2006 again!!!!

I think I lost years off my life watching that game haha. Berhalter is terrible, but the young talent from USA is fun to watch.
