2023 NBA Draft Megathread

Taylor Hendricks had 17-7 with 3 blocks in win over Ole Miss on the road, very impressive.
I watched what highlights there are on him and HOLY ****! I may not want to trade any of our picks in this draft as there are going to be some dudes who are great bets.

Havent watched UCLA much, but Jaylen Clark got some interesting stats.

6'5, shooting 62% from the field and 41% on 3 (on 2.4 attempts per game). 6.1 rebounds, 1.9 assist, and 2.5 steals w/ 15.5 points.
he might be one of the best wing defender in the nation too. i watched them once and clark was completely invisible offensively. i knew that was a bit of an aberration based on his stats - but he was incredible on the defensive side.

Here's GG Jackson showing that he gives few ****. Shooting one-legged step-backs and a few wild attempts. He makes most of the more conventional shots though. He finished with 20 pts on 7/17 and 3/8 from 3pt in a blowout loss. Added a couple blocks. Seems like he's playing free and using SC as his personal sandbox. I can't imagine most coaches would let him play like this.

It is so much fun watching all these guys that we weren't even thinking about come on the scene and increase the depth of this draft. Definitely a great draft to have 3 picks although I could see us combining a couple to trade up a little.

Bigs Adem Bona UCLA and Kel'el Ware Oregon have modern big 2 way upside, enough so to be 1st round grade even if neither get picked that high.
Adding one of those two makes sense behind Kessler.

My son went to Jaylen Clark's high school (until Clark transferred to Etiwanda his senior season). He was on JV when Clark was on varsity. I saw him play a bunch of times in person. Clark is high energy, great defensively, super athletic. Was doing windmill dunks in high school games. Haven't followed him much at UCLA but he couldn't shoot a lick in HS. He's still listed at 6'-5" which was also his height in HS. Might be worth a 2nd round flier but he doesn't have optimum height to guard bigger NBA wings. Might be interesting to see his actual wingspan measurements.

he's gotten strong since leaving HS - 6'5" isn't optimal, i agree, but a lot of guys can make up for that with strength. so yeah, a little short, but that wouldn't bother me with him.
