The Biden Administration and All Things Politics

Me too. Unfortunately, you know, gay. Are the economically anxious in Ohio, Florida, and other key battleground states ready to vote for a gay man to be president?
I would not consider Ohio and definitely not Florida a battleground state currently. Recently Arizona, Pennsylvania, Wisconsin and Georgia would be considered more swing states. Two of those states have voted in LGBT senators.
Are you worried more about three states that will not vote a gay man into office? Michigan, Georgia and Pennsylvania? But even Michigan elected a LGBT attorney general.

I don’t have confidence that the majority of voters in swing states in a presidential election will vote for a gay candidate. I’d love to be wrong on this. I’d by far be more comfortable if we based our elections for president on the popular vote. I am far more confident that a gay candidate would win an election where the popular majority throughout the nation decided decided the outcome.

Isn't it interesting how RW authoritarianism advocates takes cues from America's?

It's always the same garbage:

1. Play culture war games, find some other to demonize (usually blacks, Jews, and LGBTs). Whine about how feminine your people and culture are becoming and brag about a non-existent masculine great past that needs to be brought back.
2. Provide tax cut handouts to top donors and supporters.
3. Stack the courts with yes-men. Provide the clergy with red meat (usually money and access).
4. Have your propaganda gaslight the entire nation while demonizing real journalists. This helps you to control the narrative and keep opponents on the defensive.
5. Attempt to secure your own power through gerrymandering and voter suppression. If/When that fails, have your supporters attack your country's democracy.

At least Brazil's police arrested many of the supporters on the spot and hopefully justice will be served. I hope Bolsonaro is extracted from Florida and is held to account. Unlike our insurrectionist leader, who's the GOP's frontrunner in 2024.

Oh no, another politician who mishandled classified documents.

“The classified materials included some top-secret files with the "sensitive compartmented information" designation, also known as SCI, which is used for highly sensitive information obtained from intelligence sources.”

“Biden's team cooperated with NARA, which later came to view the situation as a mistake due to lack of safeguards for documents, the source said.”

My favorite quote:
"How that could possibly happen? How one -- anyone could be that irresponsible?" Biden said. "And I thought what data was in there that may compromise sources and methods? By that I mean names of people who helped or, et cetera. ... totally irresponsible."

A secure office building or a secure residence… I don’t see a difference. I see the difference here being that Biden “cooperated”.

Not going to speculate on what was in the classified documents like the left did with Trump. Seems like mishandling documents happens more often then we realize.

mistakes happen. What Donald did wasn’t a mistake.

Besides, I’ve been assured for several months now by Republicans that this sort of thing isn’t a big deal. Just blow off the government and whine about being persecuted. Your drooling base won’t care as long as you continue to feed into their grievance and paranoia. All that matters is what your base thinks.

Biden didn't just cooperate, we wouldn't even know about it if he/his team hadn't said something. It is a tad concerning that it's taken 2 months before the public was told about it, but I can think of several non-political reasons why that would be reasonable/appropriate.

And at the same time the Left saying it is a big deal to have classified documents. Does the VP have declassifying powers? That was Trump's defense; Biden can't use that as his. Like Gandalfe said, its a tad concerning that it took 2 months before the public knew. They knew about it before the election... Is it really that hard for you to criticize your own party.

Is it really that hard for you to acknowledge the main point of what I said?

Also, it was about 15 months between when NARA realized there were documents missing and when the FBI executed the search warrant - I don't remember hearing anything about it before then, altho I may have. So, which is longer/worse, 2 months or 15?

No, I presented it. You also forgot to add it could be political as well, you know midterms…

How long did Biden have the documents? He was VP from 08-16. So, which is longer/worse, 15 months or 72?

I personally don’t care about this. It doesn’t affect me at all. I bet nothing happens to him unlike democrats John Deutch or Sandy Berger and Republican David Petraeus. It’s even worse for the average citizen who “makes a mistake” of mishandling classified information.
Example:

I find it funny that you can’t criticize your own party. It’s okay to do it. You can criticize your sports team (Jazz) but you can’t with your political party. Strange
