The Non-Jazz NBA Thread in the Jazz Section

The NBA has a weird situation on their hands with Shannon Sharpe. How he got let back in the game is wild to me.

The next dude that gets banned for life for flipping off Draymond gonna have a precedent set and be calling a lawyer if the NBA lets this stand.

Maybe it’s at the team/arena level but even still.
Yep. No way he should be able to try to fight players and not get kicked out yet a fan calls a player a "boy" and he is banned for life or some ****. pretty huge double standard. Of course we already knew that rich people and celebs get treated different from the average joe so its kind of a nothingburger in a way, but its still, and always will be, bull ****.

Kyle Kuzma is balling this year averaging 22 points, 7 boards, and 4 assists on 46/34/70 splits. We likely would've had him in that Joe Ingles deal but Quin pulled the plug.

The deal Quin pulled the plug on wasn't for Kuzma.

Who was it for? Weren't there reports in 2021 about Kuzma/#22 for Ingles/#30

Tony Jones went on a podcast and suggested that as a hypothetical trade, and somehow it turned into a rumor that the Jazz almost made that deal but Quin stopped it. I honestly don't think a deal like that was ever on the table, just TJ throwing hypothetical trades out there on a podcast.

The deal Quin put a stop to happened after the draft. I'm not sure all the details but I believe Tim MacMahon said on Checketts show that it was a deal between the Jazz and Golden State.

Got you, that seems to be a common theme in sports media. Today ESPN released an article about NFL offseason predictions and said that the Raiders are expected to be aggressive and if Renfrow/Waller become available a lot of teams would be interested. And a ton of media sources ran with it and said those guys are being shopped.

Yeah there are speculating analysts/bloggers and there are reporters with actual sources.... and a boatload of guys with twitter accounts and absolutely no source criticism who qoute either of those 2 as they were equal facts.

Lol.

Got a text of meme today that said that Lebron is the only player in nba history to have scored over 40 points against every team in the league. Pretty cool.

Kind of surprised MJ or Wilt never did that. Especially Wilt with full seasons averaging what, 50? I guess he probably had 39 against a bunch of them.

Nope, looked it up, Wilt did it multiple times in different seasons over his career. Wilt might have scored 50 against each of the teams he played against during his career, didn't look that deep but just the game logs show a LOT of 50s.

Yeah he scored 50 against every team in the league the same year. Now granted, there were 8 other teams (9 total), but even as things opened up my bet is he scored 50 on everyone he faced at least once. Hell he averaged 50 against all but 2 of the teams that year. Crazy.

Maybe he there was too few of teams in the nba back then to qualify or something. Maybe it was like "minimum of 30 teams in the league" kind of stat or something

I do wonder if this will lead to another Kyrie drama that leads him to LA before the trade deadline. I think we could jump in as a third team and snake away 1 of those coveted Lakers firsts... interesting sublot.
