2023 NBA Draft Megathread

I’ve prob watched WAY too much basketball in the last 2 days (family is out of town), and feel free to roast me as I’m prob overthinking this, but what if Scoot isn’t the 2nd best player in this draft when it’s all said and done?

Some big knocks are he’s actually a pretty poor outside shooter so far in the GLeague at 25% from 3. Also, his defensive rating is atrocious.

I watched a full game of his last night and the dude is WILD elite athletically and does things 18 YO’s shouldn’t be able to do against grown men in a mega competitive league (relative to college and OTE) but again, he has some pretty glaring issues mentioned above.

I watched Amen and Ausar last night too and they are freaks at their size and how they move. Their shots are also a question but they don’t have terrible looking form.

I wish they both would have opted to play in any league that doesn’t look like a 24hr Fitness pickup game.

Thank you for reading todays random draft thought.

There could be a case for Brandon Miller at #2 in the future. I could see that but it depends on how the rest of the season plays out.

Some NBA exec had said few days ago he wouldnt be surprised if Brandon Miller went #2 overall jumping Thompsons and Scoot.

I dont know anything about none of them.. so dont know how stupid that might sound.

B Miller is probably #2 on D Lindsey's list :) :) :) :)

Miller's higher floor is getting shine as a productive college shooter, but I doubt it will be getting him serious consideration in the top 3 by many, not over some freak with MVP upside prospect like Scoot or Amen. I say even if Scoot is more likely to never reach his insane hyped ceiling, his ceiling on a sober plane is higher than the floor as a immediate impact prospect like Miller, assuming Miller has the situation like Paolo has, where he is immediately a teams first option. I might take him over Thompson if I moved up from late lottery aka was not entering a rebuild but was almost done with one. I think Outside of SA or maybe DET , slim chance another roster, I don't see Miller as the high usage 1st option day one to justify taking him over higher ceiling types. Not in Houston, not in Charlotte, not in most lottery teams better than bottom dwellers. Definitely not here either with the Marksman essentially playing the same role Miller plays.
But what does it matter? as it pertains to the Jazz. we aint picking any of them in out pick range as is.

I can see a case for taking at least one of the Thompsons ahead of Scoot. The main question is whether you want to build your offense around a 6'2" ball-dominant guard. But that said, if Scoot is your #2 option instead of your #1 option, things should work out just fine. You've just got to find a star wing to put next to him.

I would take the field over scoot personally as 2nd best player, but he has the best odds out of any individual
