The Non-Jazz NBA Thread in the Jazz Section

Crazy night

Cam Thomas drops 44/5/5 on 16/23 shooting and Nets rally from 23 down to beat Wiz without Ky and KD.

Brandon Ingram comes back to life and helps Pels snap 10 game skid.. unfortunately it happened against the Fakers.

Steph does down with another injury (X-ray negative, MRI pending). Warriors win anyways.

OKC puts up 153 points with only 1 guy scoring over 20 points (SGA, 42)

Insane ****ing ****. But hey, it sure feels like they want the NBA to be no different than 90's hip-hop with the toxic masculinity and bully culture prevalent right now. Looks like that's coming true. How long until people start getting shot? If they can show definitively that any player is associated with anyone remotely related to this kind of ****, that player should receive a lifetime ban from the NBA. Full stop. Enough of this ridiculous jr high "don't you dis me" ********. In fact I'd go a step further and any team associated with it has to disband the entire team. Something has to send a message this isn't a jr high playground where you can just get your buddies to beat up someone else's buddies. Unbelievably ****ing ridiculous in the extreme.

Bro the investigation saw they were cappin…lol lmao

Grizz have jumped the shark. Tee morant used to be cute but now you have multiple incidents where the entourage is spilling onto the court. Get yo **** together.

The athletic had a piece on how Irving trade affects trade markets and in that piece they also discussed that something might be wrong in Dallas.

I agree the move stinks of desperation. You make a deal for a player who is obviously pushing to get traded elsewhere, who has a history of being toxic and you even come out saying you dont have a plan to extend him. So half year rental, giving up a guy who has spent 7 years in your organisation along with another guy who has proven to be a contributor and a first round pick.

No wonder according to the article multiple NBA executives think Luka might be out the door if this year ends early for them. Their asset situation is less than ideal, their cap situation is bad (now even worse since DFS and Dinwiddie deals were among their better contracts) and if their roster ends up sucking with Irving I don't know what will happen.

This along with the Philly and Trae rumors create some interesting storylines for the next offseason.

The ultimate conspiracy theorist would say the next offseason looks like this:
  • Kyrie doesnt sign with Mavs, becomes FA.
  • KD gets sick of Nets show, and asks for a trade.
  • Atlanta fails to make a splash, Trae asks for a trade.
  • Luka is pissed off about Kyrie experiment and Dallas bad situation and asks for a trade.
  • Harden asks for a trade (long been speculated, and All-Star snub likely didn't help here), leaving Embiid in a questionnable position.
I dont think all those storylines pan out, but I wouldnt be surprised to see 2 or 3 of them come true. I ranked them in what I think is the order of likeliness.

Ok... so what the f*** is going on in Brooklyn.
1) Irving asks for a trade and sits out vs Wiz.
2) Cam Thomas comes from the bench and lights the Wizards up for career high 44 points on 69/80/88 splits and rallies Nets to a win after trailing by over 20.
3) Irving gets traded to Dallas and Nets get DFS and Dinwiddie
4) Cam Thomas starts the next game, scores again new career high 47 points on 51/63/90 splits in a loss to the Clippers.
5) KD texts to Cam apologizing for "not knowing his game"

Someone who follows these young guys tell me something about college Cam Thomas. Dude doesnt look like elite NBA guard (slower feet than you'd expect and bulkier body type aka THT) but man he reads his defender well and gets his shot off fast and with great accuracy. Picked 27th in 2021.
