Guys improve with better shot selection, picking their spots and getting reps. His 81% FT% shows he has touch and consistency. The fact that he's taking almost 9 3s per game is also affecting his numbers. His TS% isn't great, but isn't terrible.

I’m sure he will. I don’t hate him… I just want him to be able to do other things or score really efficiently… otherwise he’s an Anfernee Simons type dude… it’s valuable.

I just think prime Eric Gordon is a tier above George as a prospect. Dude was powerful and explosive.

If George isn’t more pg than sg then I’m not sure he’s a guy I’d love to build around. He’d end up causing some lineup inflexibility for a team that is a contender.
 
My concern on George is that he rarely gets to the rim, and that is a tough living in the NBA. He's too mid range heavy, and not particularly good in the mid range which leads to poor efficiency. Having said that, it could just be the case of NCAA basketball being terrible and that an open floor will open things up for him. I'm leaning towards the latter. I still don't love his archetype, but I think he's got a better chance at being a lead guard than anyone besides Scoot. I'm more confident in him being a PG than Black, for example, although I'm not confident on either.

I'm just curious why people don't think Black is a pg. He is very much a pg right now and I get it if you are saying the pg is the primary creator... he's likely not that... but Lonzo is a pg, Giddey too.

I'm very high on Black and I get why some may not like him as much... but the sentiment that he isn't a point guard is confusing to me. The shooting and raw numbers not looking that great are concerns.

Black doesn't look for his shot enough and every time I watch them I just marvel at the lack of shooting. He drives to pass too much but there are so many dudes in the paint... they are kinda like the Lakers with Russ on the court. Black drives and kicks out and the receiver pump fakes and drives again. I think Black is going to be so much better in NBA actions with good players around him. He's a connector and the parts he is connecting in Arkansas are just rough (offensively).

When I think of point guards I traditionally think of connectors so the "not sure he's a pg" narrative is strange to me.
 
After watching a bunch of college basketball I just wish they would abolish the zone defense. I think its the single biggest change they could make to improve the game. There is just no space to operate when dudes can camp in the middle of the lane the whole possession.

I think George is a bit more of a threat to drive than Simons is, just because George is more solidly built. Simons also didn't turn out to be particularly quick off the dribble. Again, I think there's some similarity between George and Markelle Fultz at Washington.
