Apparently the hawks would like to sign him as soon as possible. If I'm the jazz I'm demanding that kings 1st for him.

He is under contract through the end of this year and the trade deadline is past.

So no, they can't.
I don’t think the trade deadline applies to coaches, but I could be wrong. It happens so rarely, that I could see it being covered differently than player transactions.

Atlanta doesnt really have jack **** to give the Jazz.

THey dont own a single one of their 2nd round picks. They have a couple of fake 2nd's then they have a 2026 2nd from Golden State and a 2027 2nd from the Clippers.

I'll settle for those two picks. I doubt you're getting the Kings 1st.

Hawks job makes sense for Quin.

Atlanta is a weak organization and they are probably willing to give Quin a lot of power. They also have a ton of on-court talent to work with. If you go to the Spurs you might be rebuilding out of the playoffs for 2-3 more years.

He is still under contract and being paid by the Jazz through next year, so yes, they can.
I don't think we are actually still paying him. I think we just have his coaching rights similar to the New Orleans Saints with Sean Payton.

All the Jazz will get is cash considerations. Essentially the can stop paying Quin for his sabbatical. Which is the biggest bull **** ever tbh... either give up your dough or report to work but I guess if you are good enough at something you can get your money and chill on the beach.

That is crazy if true. Do you have an article that says that?
He signed a guaranteed contract my dude. You dont need an article to tell you obvious facts.

Utah didnt want to bring him back just to coach a single year with a new group so they told him to stay home.

It gets better because I think they were even fine bringing him back and he was like "nah I'm good". You wouldn't want to force a guy to coach but its still wild he can basically walk away and the org feels they have to pay him.

So Quin getting off the payroll will save Ryan some dough and Hawks might send a few bucks our way. We won't get anything and I'm fine with it... cuz Quin will get to deal with Trae which is a punishment in its own special way.

Where on Earth are you pulling that from? They are just giving him more power as part of the draw of getting him to sign.
Its a ****** job... they'd have to give him the bag and the loudest voice in the room or he waits for something better (I'd probably wait because I think the Trae Young thing ends badly).

Someone on Hawks board said it. I dont know the rules at all, but the source was questionnable hence the "supposedly" and the "(?)" at the end... in case someone knows how it actually goes.

Ehh, I doubt they really wanted him back on a 1 year deal and they saw an opportunity to get Hardy. If they didnt, Hardy would be the HC of the Boston Celtics currently. It worked out for both sides.
