2023 NBA Draft Megathread

Yeah. I don’t really read too much into a prospects tournament results. You’re still drafting those guys that high because of their upside. In person interviews, workouts, game film and eye test.
The rule is you never overpick a prospect who only plays well in the regular season but chokes against the pressure, And yes you never overvalue really good play by someone in a couple of tournament games if in fact their regular season production was meh. So Harrison Barnes is a prome example of someone who is a solid NBA player that also choked on the big stage and did it again with the Warriors.
It works both ways. Miller is clearly overrated being seen as a top 3 lock, or he would have taken the bull by the horns instead he couldn't , it was obvious he had no answer when they needed him most he choked bad.
You don't hold that against him as a scout as it pertains to proven skills, fine. But you do have to assume it is a red flag not performing well under pressure, which often equates to early playoff exits on the horizon with him as your first opt.
I would not draft him at all, I think he is given far more credit than he deserves for the Bama teams success and never enough blame when they lost

Jordan Hawkins and Julian Strawther are the two best draft prospects remaining and they play against each other today lol.

There are no rules

And probably 400-500 more thread pages
There's going to be a mini lull between the end of the NBA season and workouts. Sadly we don't get as good of workout content as we did with DL and Perrin. Hopefully that changes this year and we get more of those post workout interviews.

Word is that he might be a bit of a diva who doesn't like to rebound or seek contact, but who knows if he'll grow out of that.
i think he will test well not great at the combine or get a promise in the 20's and not even go to it. I was hoping to see more from him, and thought he would return to play another year in college boost his stock and be a lotterypick in 24. The fact he is in, tells me he does not have the confidence he will get much better.
I think he goes 15-20 but could fall to us late first. He is not a good defender, but has the size to become good. He is not a great playmaker either, and kind of a chucker with high usage, which go hand in hand.
I give him a chance to be a decent swingman but I am not expecting much early on.

Honestly I think we are collectively too high on Dick. I have Jett and Dick within a spot or 2 of each other in the early teens myself.

Dick inside the top 10 is wild to me.

I like him and have him at around 9/10....but I think the top 6 stuff is kinda crazy. He might be the best shooter in the draft, but it's not like he cleared the competition. Many others with a legitimate claim. Jett is one of them.

So you think we should all go a little lower on Dick?

Are we all collectively a little too down on Jett Howard?
Jett Howard?

Basically impossible for me to believe 20 teams are going to pass on his potential upside.

Is he an upside pick? I know he’s especially young, but I can’t think of a single player that was this bad and became a higher end player. Most never make it, and when they do stick around it’s because they find a way to fit into a role.
