Its funny cause the write up says "best player (concievably) available" and he praises Lauri, and the he puts up the peanuts offer.

And obviously he also proposed him to OKC later in that piece so that means he believes there would be a bidding competition.

Weird guy.
I couldn't read the rest. I like Pina in general but he's kinda casual for a guy that writes about the league for a living imo.

Do we like Kuminga/Moody or Jarace/Mathurin?
Jarace/Mathurin and it isn't close.

I'm not a Kuminga guy. He's fine... this whole belief that he has some incredible ceiling is weird to me.

I feel like Moody is the one who I have a good grasp on the player he will be going forward, and it’s a good one. He’s going to be a valuable role player for a long time.

Kuminga - I understood the allure, especially after his rookie season. He was extremely young but still an efficient +usg guy. With those physical traits I thought he could be special, but he hasn’t improved. I’m still somewhat intrigued.

Mathurin - Loved him in the draft, did some impressive stuff his rookie year, but I think his warts are showing. Not a smart player and terrible defender. He’s kind of Kelly oubre ish to me.

Jarace - Too soon to tell, but I think my evaluation has changed on him. I thought he was more of a glue guy who can do everything, he’s much more of a volume shooter than I expected. IND is a deep team, but I still thought he’d be in the mix. Hes absolutely demolishing the GLeague though.

If Jarace Walker is available I would be shocked. But if he is... rumor has it that Indy really coveted THT.

I think Lauri for a top 29 protected pick that expires after 1 draft and turns into a sack of cow ********* feels fair.

The Warriors picks will potentially be very high picks in 3 - 5 years, but will they just recycle and reload? They are a pretty competent group. Good management and obviously invested.

If OKC wants Lauri, they can be amazing for years to come but it will cost them imho. I see way more potential for a deal there then anywhere else. Here's a darkhorse though... what about the 76rs calling on Lauri? What could they offer? Lauri next to embid would be nutso.

Philly doesn't have the goods... they owe some picks for other deals. If a Lauri deal happened I think its OKC or Indiana... maybe Brooklyn. I just don't see other teams that have enough assets.

I would say there is like a 5-10% chance of a Lauri deal in the next 12 months... I think they renegotiate and extend him this summer.
