Yes it was. The biggest mistake DA ever make in his career. It is true they were on the verge of imploding before swapping out D'lo for Conley+NAW.
OofGobert Stan’s will never admit it, but Gobert with his contract is not a good nba player. You can’t pay a defense only center who can’t catch and punish small-ball lineups 30% of your cap and expect to win at the highest levels of the modern nba. And there does seem to be real chemistry issues with him. Everyone was so focused on blaming Donovan because he had clearly given up—which is fair—that they ignored the real problem with the team. He’s a great guy and good at what he does, but you can’t build around Gobert in the modern nba.
I honestly didn’t think they’d get much considering how bad his contract is going to be in a few years, this trade was Ainge’s masterpiece. It’ll probably go down as the biggest fleece in NBA history, especially if things fall apart in Minny, which I think, they’re going to. Kat is mentally soft, and Anthony Edwards already has a similar relationship to gobert that Mitchell had. And Edwards isn’t half as good of a guy as Mitchell. It’s going to get ugly there.
A few like this one have gone somewhat sideways too. Yeah it's a season later, but lots of absolutes in this thread.Update: the Timberwolves are bottom-10 in the league in Defensive Rating
Edwards has the same defensive rating this year as Donovan did with Rudy

Update: his DBPM this year with Gobert is -0.1
Update: they haven’t
Yeah now it isWow this thread is hilarious to read through now.
AhhhI can’t wait for you to be wrong (once again) and can’t wait to hear the excuses.
Everyone with a brain knows we robbed the Timberwolves and they aren’t going to be much better than the 4th seed at best.
Cy white knighting for Gobert and Minnesota is pathetic at the highest degree. I honestly feel bad for you.
Another post before the Mike Conley trade last year.Ahhh
A vast majority of this Donovan Mitchell trade drama is nothing more than a fabrication and complete exaggeration from these so called experts.
If we are touting predictions. . .I mean the most obvious call is that Colin Sexton will be playing for the Utah Jazz this year. That deal is there just obviously waiting on something else.
I like Sexton as an investment, but I'm done with undersized 2 guards. . .
Yup. Nobody had him going to Cleveland. It was mostly all just made up hogwash from so called experts.Hmm.
