But why do they need to clear money? I honestly think we are getting one more year of tanking.FVV is massively overpaid of course, but he's a free agent after the season, so we'll clear a lot of money for next year.

Yeah, that may be the case, just pointing out (to oldtimer) that the contract isn't much of a problem. Clearing money next year would potentially allow us to for example save someone from tax hell by picking up an expiring plus assets. But why do they need to clear money? Not for Houston. They got Green, Eason, Smith Jr , Tate, Amen and Brooks. Thats wings and forwards for days. Also I bet they dont want JC to be a 25M tweener backup center to Sengun, who plays 30+ mpg.are you saying it makes no sense to value john collins and Clarkson plus their contracts more than FVV and his massive 42 million dollar contract. what has FVV done to justify that contract? I like Cam Whitmore, but FVV's contract is a massive negative asset.
He's taking 20 shots per 36 min, by far the most in his career. Second most is 16.I wonder if Collins is finding a new appreciation for coming off the bench. He's averaging the most shots per game since his 3rd year in the NBA despite playing less minutes.
FVV isn’t the type of dude you trade for if you’re actively trying to tankWhy?
Maybe you aren't understanding that FVV has a club option next year. We would be trading for an expiring contract if we wanted to treat it that way. Trading away the JCs for an expiring contract is the best we can hope for in my opinion.
Whitmore just fell out of Udoka’s rotation in Houston. They simply got way too many talented young players to figure out and it ain't like Cody/Brice/Key these kids can actually play. Vanvleet has been a disaster and he's not justifying his minutes or contract. They probably have to make some moves soon cuz they are too talented to not make the playoffs. We give them two vets who can help them win now and we get an exiting young talent who can bring the crowd to its feet.

Those back to back dunks on Walker is what sell you tickets.
Yes but would the Hawks? There may be a way to add a theoretical premium pick for the 2025 draft. Atlanta REALLY needs a starting center as Capela aint it anymore.
They own the Lakers 2025 pick unprotected and I think the Lakers have been overperforming thanks to AD, and will run out of steam (or get injuries) down the road. That pick could end up in the lottery.
Who would consider Kessler for Cody Zeller + Lakers 2025 first?
At this point we could convince them to give us the pick. That aint possible if it starts to look lottery bound.
I dont know. Kessler there makes a lot of sense as Snyder had success with Rudy and Trae/JJ could help him get better offensively. Trae is miles better at PnR than any of our guards, so he could unlock Kessler as a roll big.Yes but would the Hawks?
There is also an added value here in making Atlanta better. Helping them be a play off-contender lessens the chances of their pick, that is owned by San Antonio, being good. There may be a way to add a theoretical premium pick for the 2025 draft.
