Do Jazz really want another undersized PG?
Do they want someone who may drop them out of a couple top 5 picks over next two years?
Do they want someone who may not be the missing piece?

Why?

Maybe you aren't understanding that FVV has a club option next year. We would be trading for an expiring contract if we wanted to treat it that way. Trading away the JCs for an expiring contract is the best we can hope for in my opinion.

I've been optimistic about Collins recently, but let's be real....if we got an expiring for those two we should take it and run. FVV would certainly have value to other teams (including HOU, he's their best player)....but even if we instantly released FVV we'd be better off without JC x2 on the books next season.

People are out of their minds if they think having FVV is worse than JCx2 lol.

It's not that serious because no way Houston does it, but also because this isn't about a long term thing, just the rest of this year. If we want to move on from him at the end of the season then we do and now have max level cap space.

If that's the plan they cannot let him play one minute for Jazz
They can't risk having him win one game for Jazz :) :) :) :) :)

Yes, that's the risk and downside of doing the trade. We seem way too far away from being good that FVV can somehow make us respectable, but who knows.

A more realistic salary dump is the one that's been discussed a lot on this forum, Lonzo. The Bulls only have one backup big, and Collins can play with both Vuc and Jalen Smith. The Bulls would be smart to tank, but they are still the Bulls and all they aspire to do is be mid. Collins had a great showcase against them, that's for sure.

are you saying it makes no sense to value john collins and Clarkson plus their contracts more than FVV and his massive 42 million dollar contract. what has FVV done to justify that contract? I like Cam Whitmore, but FVV's contract is a massive negative asset.

FVV is massively overpaid of course, but he's a free agent after the season, so we'll clear a lot of money for next year.

But why do they need to clear money? I honestly think we are getting one more year of tanking.
Yeah, that may be the case, just pointing out (to oldtimer) that the contract isn't much of a problem. Clearing money next year would potentially allow us to for example save someone from tax hell by picking up an expiring plus assets.

Not for Houston. They got Green, Eason, Smith Jr , Tate, Amen and Brooks. Thats wings and forwards for days. Also I bet they dont want JC to be a 25M tweener backup center to Sengun, who plays 30+ mpg.

Also who would run point for them without FVV? Reed Sheppard?
