2024-25 Trade Rumors Thread

How funny would it be to get one of our picks back?

Sidenote: one downside to the trade for the Suns pick is that we basically can’t trade the Wolves picks back to them for Anthony Edward’s in x-number of years when the wheels come off and they have no way to get better.
Haha, HH and I thought the same thing. We have a ton of usable salary and players that Miami would want.

I like Klintman, but idk, he's just another long lengthy project who is ways away when we already have Cody/Hendricks and soon to draft Flagg.
I originally was going to included Sasser but for similar reasons as you listed but with guards I thought maybe not.

Don’t think Collins makes a ton of sense for DET for reasons others have stated. If DET is going to upgrade, it’s probably in the backcourt. Sasser isn’t bad at all, but he’s where they might look to improve with Ivey out. If I were them, I’d just roll with Sasser.

Alright, who the hell wants Beal and who the hell does Beal want to play for? It feels like a miracle for the Suns to figure this out.

Doesn’t change anything on the Ant front. The picks we traded are least favorable.

Exactly; they are the least favorable of the Jazz, Wolves, and Cavs, which means the Wolves picks are no longer unencumbered. They can’t be traded back to Minnesota outright without further finagling.

It’s gotta be a glitzy, dumb franchise, so the Lakers seem like a possibility. Getting their matching salary is crazy and evening everything out in terms of value is pretty prickly. Not enough roster spots to roster all of the Lakers players that have to go in the deal… but I think I might be getting close.

Maybe the Clippers. Knicks are unfortunately not as stupid these days. Brooklyn not trying to **** with all that. Chicago?

It’s just some language. If their pick wasn’t one of the most 2 favorable they’d rather have the more favorable one.

It's not clicking. Let's run through this scenario: It's 2027 and the Wolves suck again as most of the supporting cast ages out and McDaniels never becomes a legitimate offensive option. Ant in some way, shape, or form would like out and the Wolves want their draft futures back. What are we offering that doesn't **** up keeping our pick and gets them theirs back without further finagling?

Jazz get their pick owed to the Thunder back outright and their '26 2nd rounder back by sending OKC the Chicago pick with similar protections via SAS. Protects against the very-possible scenario of the Jazz getting absolutely nothing in the draft next year and makes the Wolves and Cavs picks swappable again (unlikely they'll need it, but still nice to have just in case something crazy happens). This protects draft futures on both ends of winning:
-If the Jazz have a crazy jump they'll keep their pick (which makes the possibility of swapping at all possible, also).
-If the Jazz tank crazy hard, they'll get essentially a late-1st
-If the Jazz are a borderline play-in team that might've otherwise conveyed the pick, they will keep ~10 and ~40.

Thunder might need something else but I honestly don't know what fits the bill (2nds in the farthest years out possible?). I guess you get max value by tanking our asses off again just keep Chicago's, but if you think you might start going for it next year then this is the way to go.
