Jackpotting Around Podcast: Episode 37 - Keandre Ashley of Hoop Intellect

so you're saying a guy who's testing shows the fastest shuttle runs/agility testing at the combine and a 37 inch vertical can't get to the rim ?? I think the bet that he develops that in the NBA is pretty good

Its actually rare that the rim frequency % goes up when players transition into the NBA. I believe KqWIN posted some data that pointed to this very observation. Intuitively, the spacing is better in the NBA but so are the athletes. Can Tre drastically improve this part of his game? I am not so sure.

No I’m telling you the guy that struggled to get tot he rim and finish in college and as a high school senior has not shown he can get tot the rim and finish lol. This ain’t a track meet it’s basketball… we have actual useable functional information here. Jebus.

Tre actually got to the rim more in high school and was more of a playmaker in high school as well.

and lots of varied context. and how old is the dude. I'm projecting 3-4 years down the track. When your boy certainly won't be able to get to the rim.

Ahhh the guy you like will obviously fix all his flaws while the guy you hate who is good at something will obviously be exposed… got it.

I mean if you want to take it to a hysterical overreaction/conclusion sure.

I don't see how it's a stretch that the guy who is a far superior athlete is more likely to develop that part of his game than a dude who's obviously limited in that department. Don't shoot the messenger dude. If we already had a good team and were picking 12th i'd love to get the dumpy slow white guy who can shoot great. This is the highest pick in forever for the Jazz and shouldn't be wasted on a guy with such obvious limitations.

Tre is a facsimile of Hield.
VJ is a facsimile of Melton.
Ace is a facsimile of Kuminga.

Can do this all day. Meaningless statements on their own.
Tre is a facsimile of Herro more than Hield, way more skilled. VJ is more of a more skilled and athletic Cody Williams and that’s scary. Laughable to call Ace Kuminga.
