What's new

The Non-Jazz NBA Thread in the Jazz Section

Does anybody else have a favorite non jazz team they are watching this year?
I watch the Sixers to keep tabs on my man Edgecombe (who's hitting an early rookie wall).

It's a miracle that team is 7-4. Nurse never seems to have a plan – 90% of the time they rely on Maxey going 100mph and creating something out of thin air. Fun to watch though.

11 teams shooting over 80% from the FT line. Last year there was 5.

Biggest reason is the massive spike in FTA….but yeah offenses are unstoppable now. So much talent and skill on the court at all times.

And of course the league leans into more FT’s….because that’s what the people really want to see!

Also feel like the dominant rim runner who can't shoot FTs well but shoots a lot of FTs are far fewer now than 5 years ago.

The league calls everything for the offensive player so they can ratchet up offenses. No more travel, carry, hell soon I'm expecting them to just full on allow double dribble. Offense is exciting, especially for more casual fans and that's what brings in the money. Can't slow things down, it's not exciting.

Funny to think everyone freaked out if the Suns would suck. They got Brooks back and they are playing great. Bummer Green got injured right after coming back.

The All Star format is different this year. There are going to be 3 teams, one of them exclusively international players, with a total of 24 players. I thought this might improve Lauri's chance of being an All Star this year, but it might not.

The World team should have Jokic, Shai, Giannis, Luka, Wemby, Sengun... Maybe Lauri gets in, but there's also Franz, Paolo and possibly Giddey, Avdija maybe as well.

I just looked at their schedule though. Their wins were against us, Pacers, Mavs, Clippers (x2), Pels and Kings. They did beat San Antonio, but that's the only team above .350.
