Free agent guard Blake Ahearn and the Indiana Pacers have agreed to a deal, one source told HoopsHype. Ahearn, mostly known as a shooter, finished the 2011-12 season with the Jazz after getting called up from the D-League.
Ahearn's deal with Indiana is a make-good training camp contract with some guaranteed money, the source said.

Meh, liked the guy, but his chances with the Jazz became real small when they signed Randy Foye. Slow news day....

(edit: actually not really twitter, but who cares?)

He was ridiculously likable, but was downright awful in every way.

I really do wish him the best of luck, though.

I can't believe when we picked him up that they didn't put a second year team option on his deal or at least make him a RFA rather than risk him signing somewhere else outrighT before we could lock him up. Another blunder by Jazz brass.

Fire KOC!
It's apparent there was interest in this guy. Why wasn't he a RFA? KOC could have gotten at LEAST a 2nd-rounder, maybe even a late first for Ahearn.

Danny Granger was practically as good as ours, but what do we end up getting out of this deal? Nothing but the eventual satisfaction of saying we were the team who discovered this guy (and then let him slip through our fingers).

I'm really hoping that it's sarcasm. He is a feel good story and nothing more. He may even play for a few years, but no way does he make the difference on a championship team.

We have Williams, Tinsley, Watson, Foye, and Burks who can play minutes at the 1.

We don't have no more reason for a backup 1.

This thread is hilarious. Keep your reactions to the news coming.

Ahearn was easily the most naturally gifted basketball player on our team and by far the most exciting to watch, not even a close second. The easiest way for me to describe watching Blake Griffen Ahearn play is making my grandma ******* hard.
