Kirelenko in Trade talks!!!!!!!!!!!!!

6. Has anyone thought of the possibility that AK may even come back and sign with the Jazz next summer when he becomes a free agent (ala Raja Bell)? It doesn't mean that Dever has him locked up for his entire career. Why wouldn't AK want to come back? We've over paid him for all those years may be he would want to repay us for that.

Fire away..
Paying Diaw $9mil next year is gonna make the Jazz unable to sign AK, even at a reasonable price.

Uh, the difference in their salaries is 8mil. The Jazz are about 6mil over the tax. 8 + 6 = 19? If the Jazz were 13mil over the tax, Locke would be right. They're not, and Locke can't add.

Idiots outing themselves all over the place.

They sure are :)

The Jazz would be saving $8 million in salary, $6 million in luxury tax savings, and would also receive the $4 million payout for being under the luxury tax at the end of the year. 8+6+4 = $18 million.

For the record, every person who supported the Millers on the basis of "they really opened their wallets" when they let Boozer, Korver, Brewer, Matthews, and Maynor go has to immediately eat crow if they give AK away.

Its not like AK was holding down the SF position. He wasn't amazing at anything last year. Its not a total drop off like your making it out to be.
AK is still BY FAR the best wing player on the Jazz. If you want to give CJ and Hayward more than 30 minutes per game (ick), stick Raja on the bench.

Kirelinko has never been as bad as his haters would suggest and never been as good as his fan boys prop him up to be.

If this trade goes through, I think people will be amazed at how much we DON'T miss AK, and I don't say that because I'm a fan of soft, 7-feet tall frenchman. The Jazz are so used to playing without him or at the very least, playing with him and not knowing what they're going to get every night that it very well could be addition by subtraction.

He's just not that big of a deal.

Again read my post. I am not saying I want this trade to happen. I was just posting how it can work.

I would prefer to keep AK. Diaw's contract isn't worth it to me.

Has the payout ever been that high? Seems to me 2-3mil is normal. I did overlook that part of the equation, but it still doesn't add up to 19. Also, fewer wins and no playoffs would cost the Millers a bit.

Absolutely and completely false. They didn't know that the crybaby was going to be traded, nor could they have any premonition that they would absolutely be able to trade AK at the trade deadline to save the money. As far as they were concerned, IMO, they were committed to spending the money.

Come on, you're a lawyer. You should know better than that.
