I think the fact that ak is even in talks the jazz have a plan all a long to get rid of the contract. I told my friend that once you hear his name in talks he is gone. Every move the jazz have done this year has been to save money. Jazz don't feel that much money is going to put them over the top with ak. If he does get traded i hope we can sign him back next year. But i feel the chances are very high he is gone before the deadline.

AK's not gone for sure. I think at this point it's a foregone conclusion that this current deal is not happening. Utah is starting the season with AK.

With AK in a contract year, I doubt he misses any games to nagging injuries. If this team comes together earl and AK is a major factor in that, it's wouldn't be a stretch to see Utah hovering around the 2 seed when the trade deadline comes about.

If that's the case, Utah is going to be hard pressed to move him because of how horrible it will look to not only the fans, but the team as well (especially D-Will).

My advice to Greg Miller: Get ready to pony up, keep AK for the season, let his $17 mil come off the books and if he's willing to resign with Utah for half that much next season then bring him back.
 
I find this fascinating. We've been enamored with AK to the point of refusing to deal him for the following:

Shawn Marion, who was and is better and would have expired years ago.
Amare Stoudamire, who was and is better and would have expired last year.
Vince Carter, who was and is better and would have expired years ago.
Tracy McGrady, who at worst would have expired last year.

Now, after paying nearly his entire contract, we're that desperate to dump his salary that Boris Diaw, who has a longer contract, becomes a suitable substitute?

That was the talk of the town. But even if that was just a rumor, any of those three other guys would have been both better financial and basketball decisions. Diaw is worse on all fronts -- and by a longshot. Why have we gone from delusional to desperate regarding Andrei's talent and salary?

Anthony and LaLa are in Hollywood, which is even better for her career than NYC; Between NYC and New Jersey, Clippers have the best core to build around with Baron Davis and Blake Griffin.
If Anthony's only reason for not wanting to play in LA is the fear of being in the shadow of Kobe Bryant, then he is actually not a baller and afraid to be challenged for the spotlight.

That would be because the biggest delusional when it came to AK was Larry Miller himself. All of the trades mentioned above were axed by LHM. He felt that AK was a better player than he is. Now that Larry is gone And the Jazz can save a lot of cash. (no matter how much it ends up being it's still MILLIONS of dollars). They are dumping AK who hasn't been the player that LHM thought he was for 4 years now.

McGrady was last summer. I don't recall when VC was.

Carter was before his current stint with the Magic. LHM was still around then. And McGrady was still injured and no one was sure he was even going to come back and be any kind of a player at all (which he isn't). Plus hit was McGrady, mister Dis on D-Wills name, never get out of the first round, Destroy team chemesty McGrady were talking about. I's rather have Diaw than the McGrady they were trying to trade us.
 
I think it's at least debatable if Marion, Carter and T-mac are really better players tahn AK, maybe they are better offensive players, but if you look at AK's ability to impact the game on both ends of the floor, i dont think it's so clear who's better. I would take AK over any of those three in a heartbeat.
