Kirelenko in Trade talks!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I think it's at least debatable if Marion, Carter and T-mac are really better players tahn AK, maybe they are better offensive players, but if you look at AK's ability to impact the game on both ends of the floor, i dont think it's so clear who's better. I would take AK over any of those three in a heartbeat.

You hit it right there on the head. The Jazz aren't interested in people like Marion, Carter, and T-mac.
For one thing, all of those guys are getting pretty washed up.
And for another, none of those guys can change the dynamics of a game like AK.

Kirilenko played completely like himself until cocky Carlos Boozer showed up, and started getting the ball constantly.
I expect him and Deron to get right back to business, with Millsap and Jefferson joining in.

I hear from my sources that the Jazz are really motivated to trade AK prior to Nov 9th. Blizzard is releasing Cataclysm. AK wants to be the first Mage to level to 85 on WoW.

Don't act like you don't know what I am talking about. I saw a guild named Latter Day Soldiers.

Carter was before his current stint with the Magic. LHM was still around then. And McGrady was still injured and no one was sure he was even going to come back and be any kind of a player at all (which he isn't). Plus hit was McGrady, mister Dis on D-Wills name, never get out of the first round, Destroy team chemesty McGrady were talking about. I's rather have Diaw than the McGrady they were trying to trade us.

The point I make with McGrady is that at worst he expires. Anything passed that would have been a bonus. Had we traded for McGrady, we wouldn't be in this luxury tax predicament. If we had traded for McGrady, we also wouldn't have to choose betweenn one year of Kirilenko or next year of 9+ million to Diaw.

When Andrei is injured, he's usually not playing on either end of the floor. When he's not injured, it's pretty rare that he's playing on both ends of the floor.

The fact that he can does not imply that he is, does or will. Andrei is also washed up. Plus, we're talking about Marion 3-4 years ago. In addition, what we're really talking about is that any one of the aforementioned players would have been long expired and history, unlike our current predicament.

Kirilenko played completely like himself until cocky Carlos Boozer showed up, and started getting the ball constantly.

So his skillset and mental toughness is conditional. Wonderful.

I never said that he could play simultaneously on both sides of the floor as you suggest. Let me ask you something, if you could pick right now, you really would've traded AK for Carter? or Tmac? really? Tracy "first round exit" Mcgrady? Vince freaking Carter? i know i wouldnt.

I forgot how to speak nerd.

So we do the trade for McGrady and his $22 million dollar contract last year and give up AK and his less than $18 million. That gives us 4 million more dollars in LX tax last year on top of what we paid for a player that never even got on the floor until January, and even after that sucked. Were as AK was playing the Best ball he has played in 4 years during the time TMac was rehabing. So last year they save 4 million (8 if you add it as LX tax) and loose games that AK helped you win. The Jazz were pulling for one more shot with the team they had. And if AK and Okur stay healthy who knows they might have gone further. To me they made a sound desision with when it comes to that deal.

Yes and yes. I really think you're missing the point. The question is, would you rather have nothing right now and be under the luxury tax or would you rather have Diaw at 9 million for the next two years? That's the real question.

When you stop giving the guy the ball, he can't very well affect the game now can he?? ;-)

But wait, I thought Andrei dominated the game without having to score? I thought his 5 x 5's affected the game plenty. I thought his defense and energy went far beyond the boxscore. Are you telling me Boozer took that from him, too?

Haha your a funny guy. I never said anything about scoring, it's all about touches.

Not having the ball on offense doesn't mean he can't defend on the other end. Andrei himself said that when he doesn't get "touches" he doesn't play as hard defensively. That's a %*%%^$* attitude from a guy getting MAX money. This season will be no different. Jefferson and Millsap are both more efficient and better options on offense. AK will again be the 4th - or even 5th - option and will start complainign about his role after a couple of weeks.

Since when did he say he doesn't play as hard defensively. I think the point is that when he doesn't get touches, he loses involvement in the game and that affects his defensive intensity. He's an energy type player and if he stands around on offense, it affects him on defense. If you have played basketball, I think this is understandable, especially if you are that type of player. And when was the last time he complained about his role? Two, maybe even three years ago? I think he has pretty much accepted being a role player with the Jazz.
