Yet another example of multiculturalism failing badly. But lets close our eyes and pretend nothing is happening and multiculturalism is a way to go.

Lawyer Ann Christine Hjelm found that 85 per cent of the convicted rapists were born on foreign soil or from foreign parents. The phenomenon is not restricted to Sweden. The number of rapes committed by Muslim immigrants in Western nations is so extremely high that it is difficult to view these rapes as merely random acts of individuals. It resembles warfare. This is happening in most Western European countries.

I think you're confusing things.

Multiculturalism can work. One of the most likely places for it to work is in a constitutional republic (or democracy) that protects each person's individual rights. The only thing people from varying cultures has to do is agree to respect other's individual rights and adopt a live and let live attitude towards public activity. Sure, if that doesn't work for them then multiculturalism doesn't work for them. You've got Muslims moving into European cities at a rapid pace and the locals are welcoming them with open arms, but many of these muslims are not looking to live in a multicultural society, they are trying to create Muslim communities within the Secular community and then enforce their Muslim moral standards in a way that violates the rights of their fellow albiet non-Muslim citizens. You point to that and say multiculturalism doesn't work. Sure, when one side isn't playing along it's pretty dysfunctional.

Thanks for pointing to a reason why it does not work. Because people do not want to be multicultural. Swedes do not want mosques on their lands, same as muslims do not want churches. Muslims do not want to see women with uncovered hair same as French do not want women with face veils. It just does not work! Pretending it will and doing nothing about it will lead to third world war sooner or later.

So "Swedes" and "Muslims" are two mutually exclusive categories?

He just means that Muslim and Western ideals don't mix very well. The rest of his "multiculturalism is baaaad" argument is all pretty much based on that fact.
 
Multiculturalism? Maybe I just don't know what you mean when you say it AKMVP. I don't value multiculturalism in and of itself. However, I don't see a person only as a Muslim or a Christian and more than that I don't see every Muslim individual as an extension of Muslim culture. I served in the U.S. Navy with several Muslims. If you don't think Multiculturalism is functional I wonder why the U.S. military is so ****ing hard core bad ***. Multiculturalism is inescapable in the U.S. military, and you better get your *** on board if you find yourself in a U.S. military uniform because you will be punished if you can't learn how to play nice with people who are different than you.

When I say multiculturalism I don't mean a culture that is nothing at it's core while various cultural factions vie for political pull and cultural relevance. What I mean is the ability of people with different cultural backgrounds to peacefully coexist in a specific geopolitical location.

The euros need a cheap labor class. So they welcome the Muslims. The Muslims, instead of assimilating into euro culture, prefer to wage a jihad against the immoral infidel euro culture.

Something has to give!

How can you assimilate if you're not being allowed to? It's like complaining that the damn blacks should've just assimilated into mainstream white American culture and all the racial problems in the USandA would've gone away.

Huh? How are they being prevented from being assimilated? Demanding that Europe adopt strict fundamentalist Islam attitudes and laws isn't assimilating into European culture. I'm usually all about the lil guy. The minority. But For Muslims invading Europe for work and then demanding that Europeans adjust just isn't right.

I don't think Americans understand this. In general, the Hispanics coming in are catholic and that means basically they are chill with almost everybody. They don't necessarily demand that womens rights be changed according to their religion. They aren't trying to change American social laws. In Europe? Completely the opposite. The Muslims coming in are aggressive, demanding, and look at Christianity as a threat to their way of life.

Jim, if the Hispanics coming into the USA demanded that all American women wear veils, would you then blame the USA for not allowing them to assimilate?

Well, for one, citizenship laws. Until 2001, there was no dual citizenship in Sweden. Children are not automatically born citizens, either, which is stupid. Doesn't exactly encourage kids to identify with Sweden. This of course stems from the idea that originally, the immigrants were all supposed to be guest workers, who would turn 50, retire, and then return to whatever country they were born but haven't lived in for 2-3 decades.

Then there's the issue of what room is there for Islam within Swedish identity. One of the common threads you'll see in both media and public discourse in Sweden is that there is a Swedish/not-Swedish dichotomy which implies that there are real Swedes(white, Christian, largely Nordic ancestry) and the immigrants who live in Sweden but are not Swedes, even if they have been in the country for 2-3 generations. If you set up a paradigm whereas Islam and Swedishness are incompatible, what is the likelihood of any Muslim wanting to adopt any part of Swedish identity?

How can a recent immigrant post about the failures of multiculturalism? ****, I've been hoping all those northern slavs would get the **** out of Canada...but that's not a winnable war.
