What's new

July 11th, Summer League Game 4: Jazz vs. Pacers 11 A.M. ET

Maybe this is a bad time to bring it up.

Peyton Silva is probably available. Pistons signed Bynum and Billups to go with Knight and Stuckey.

Silva was 7-11 with 7 assits in a summer league game. Silva is a winner.

hey atleast burke had more assists than turnovers! thats improvement

15 field goal attempts and 2 free throw attempts, though...

also the team shot 12% from three

Burke is now 9/42... i cant ever remember a top 10 pick having such an awful start to summer league

It's partly because the team can't shoot. I didn't see anything noticeably wrong with his shot a a few banged right back out from the rim. The Pacers just packed it in and he was had some awkward angles on his layups as a result. Otherwise, he's stuffed.

This will get better once pre-season gets here.

I'm not worried about his FG %, Im just worried that he's attempting this many shots. Not something we need at PG. PG shouldn't have the highest FGA.

The team shot just fine yesterday

Neither PG was impressive today.

Gobert and Evans? Very impressive.

Maybe the point point guards should pass to gobert and evans more instead of shooting so much

I don't like those step back jumpers from Trey so early on in the shot clock

He's playing like he wants to be Mo Williams, I don't get it.

I think coaches have given him green light to shoot.. Hasn't been looking to set up teammates at all really.

I sure hope so. He definitely didn't play like the "pure point" that he's marketed as.

Burke keeps hitting back iron

And yet he keeps chucking them up without setting an offense.

Yea Burke's assist number are down because guys can't make shots.

I agree, but same could be said for Neto, or any other PG in the SL.

I like the pace Neto plays at

This. Netos stat sheet wasn't impressive, but the team played better when he was out there.

I know it is just Summer League, but I feel a lot more confident in Neto than I do with Burke. If Burke could've managed one good game I would be chill, but this was an atrocious showing. Not only did his shot not fall in any game, but his assist to turnover ratio is crappy, as well as the pace that he has played with. We have an athletic team now (finally) with Burks, Evans, Favors, Hayward all going to get good minutes, but I'm worried Burke's pace will limit the collective's potential. I hope he comes ready to play in October. Jazz really should have signed up for Vegas, cause it looks like Burke needs all the experience he can get.

In his defense, it's not like he has Hayward or Malone or Hornacek to dish it out to out there. You'd have to think he'll be much more deferrential on a real team. Plus he's the top 10 pick who is expected to perform and put up the #s.

Do the jazz get 1 more game tomorrow or are they done?

He is just not as NBA ready as most uf us expected him to be and I seriously don't want him to start. He needs to come off the bench and play around 20 minutes per game. Otherwise, we would throw him under the bus and I don't think that this is the right thing to do with Burke. He needs time and needs to learn a lot. I like that he is motivated and has high expectations of himself but he seriously is not ready to step in and take over. We need a starting PG that can distribute the ball for 28 minutes.

He's probably just trying to get his shot and offensive game back, not worrying about the result of these inconsequential games.

Hey we won two points for winning the second and fourth quarters. The guys not in negative numbers when they were on the floor: Roberts, Burke, Mahalbasic, Gaffney and McNeal. I think Trey is shooting about 20% for the tournament.

Well, if we don't get Wiggins/Parker in the draft, maybe we'll need to draft Andrew Harrison. On the bright side, it looks like our other #1 pick is legit. Gobert is going to slide into the 3rd big man spot just fine. There will be growing pains, but I'm excited to see him get minutes as the backup 5.

Speaking of Burke, his performance ought to really change those ROY odds in Vegas. Olynyk has to be the favorite right now.

You guys are WAY overreacting about summer league. Just relax enjoy your summer and have some patience with the team especially our rookies. Did you really think Burke, Neto and Gobert were just going to walk into the NBA and just dominate? It is going to take a few years for these guys. It is important for fans to be patient, this is what most informed Jazz fans want.

The coaches are not panicking. I hope they keep having patience with the kids. There is no way I want to watch some crappy vet coming in and playing over our young guys, slowing down the progress of Burke or Neto. Fans and the organization need to fully invest in the rebuild if the goal is to have a shot at winning a championship. Which is what I want. I have plenty of patience because I think this is the way to build a contending team.
