How do you play basketball?

I am 6 feet tall. Playing the PG position. I am a bad 3PT shooter but have decent mid-range game. I am better inside and when I look to pass the ball. Great court-vision and good dribbling. I play good defense though I am way too skinny. I am a bad rebounder as well or that may be because I don't rebound at all.

Actually we could make a game out of this. Someone would roll up some stats and form teams and simulate them against each other. Offseason is boring.

Man, I wish I had some of my good highlights on camera. Oh well.

Good rebounder..... good outside shot..... good inside defender but horrible perimeter defense..... great ball handler and decent passer..... bad finisher in traffic/contact

I play Jefferson-ball. And I'm not kidding. I have good footwork, but hardly anything else. So I'm fed the ball in the paint, I do the Jefferson routine for 15 seconds, then I jack up a prayer.

If I could just get into a better shape...

I'd say I'm a stretch PF. Good mid range jump shot, post moves and handles. I'm just too light these days (6'2 with shoes, 165 lbs) to push guys around down low, so I rely mainly on my jumper.

Currently I play PG (sometimes SG, or PF, or whatever depending on who can't make it), player-coach along with 2 other guys, and chief irritant for a rec/company-league team here in the great city of Reno!! We don't have many teams to play against but we are undefeated (6-0).

Last game I scored 14, on 6 for 13 from the field, most shots layups or long shots on broken plays (2-4 from 3-land), no free throws, had a nice jump hook in traffic with my off hand over the big boys. That was cool. Dished out 11 assists (out of maybe 18 for our whole team :), and pulled down 8 boards, according to our unofficial stat guy (my neighbor). It was a very high-scoring affair, ending at 56-48. 2 20-min halves, college rules. I had no dunks, I am sorry to say, but I had a couple sweet swats on the other teams center, who was about 6'6 or 6'7 (me at 6'2 if I had my wheaties, which I did, if wheaties and capn crunch are the same thing). He had the height he just couldn't jump to save his life and I came from behind and just took it out of his hands on one shot, and on the other met him at the basket on a breakaway and shot it into the cheap seats. Which is all the seats, since there are 3 rows of them and it's free. :)

I'm a good point guard. 6'2" or 6'3"...quick...can drive on anybody. Clean handle. Athletic. Range. Can see the court pretty well. Best part though? I have the Kobe Bryant footwork/ball fake moves down because he was my favorite player for a long time and I used to practice those.... so I can work from the post too. Got the fade away game and everything. Nobody can guard it.

We should get a Jazzfanz' game going again. Provo Rec has some very high level amateur runs at certain times of the day right now. If there are enough of us from around here it could be fun to get 5 or 6 of us and try and hold court.

I'm a PG 5'7". Love to pass off of the dribble and set up other's for layups. Though I love physical contact and pushing on defense (in a ref'd game I foul out 50% of the time. :) ). I'm good at getting to the paint and getting looks. I get out of control though and turn it over some when I get off balance. I'm good at drawing fouls and never played a ref'd game without at least one trip to the foul line. I'm okay at outside shooting, just enough to help me get inside but not enough to really be a threat consistently. Oh and I'm starting to feel old and the speed I've always used to my advantage is starting to go away. :(

Psychologically

Only ever play one on one with my little bro, anymore. He has gotten much taller and better than I so it's all I got.
Works though.

I'm 5'8, play the PG position. Most of the time I try to channel my inner Trey Burke/Steve Nash and play that pick & roll hesitation passing game... I'm absolutely terrible at shooting mid range or 3 pointer.... I get most of my points off 1-on-1, or pick and roll quickly to the basket, take the guy by surprise off the dribble and finish it with a layup Tony Parker style... I do occasionally hit the open jumper when defenders leave me wide open... rarely goes in though.

What I enjoy the most about bball is when I make a perfect pass for a big man who finishes it at the rim...

I'm usually the shortest guy in any pickup games, so I usually play the PG position by default which I am quite happy about.

How much $ is it for a one day pass or whatevs?
