What's new

For those of you doubting Gordon Hayward...

So even though Hayward is a better shooter, he'll amount to nothing more than a good role player while George is destined to be a SUPERSTAR.

Hayward did not show that he has IT in him so far. You know that mystical "Superstar factor". Killer instinct, will to take over the game, not backing down from punks sticking finger in his ear, showing that he can make this team his and lead it the way Superstars lead.
This year will answer it as he has nowhere to hide. It is either now or never. I am very interested to see how it will turn out.

Never said he is clearly better in all areas. Hayward is better shooter. There is no argument here.

Hayward is a better shooter.
Hayward is better at drawing fouls.
Hayward is better at handling the ball.

I believe those things to be facts about Hayward compared to George. They are all pretty undeniable.

George is a better rebound.
George is a better defender.

Passing is about equal. George may average more, but he also has a slightly higher usage rate and didn't have Big Al as his primary scorer (Big Al doesn't create many assist opportunities with his slow style).

Both players are fairly average at finishing at the rim when they aren't dunking. George's FG% at the rim is 1% higher. Hayward actually has a 4% advantage on George from 3-9 feet. A 2% advantage from 10-15 feet. Are exactly equal from 16-23 feet. And Hayward obviously has a large 5% advantage from deep.

I stand by the fact that Hayward is better, or at least on par, with everything George does offensively.

Shouldn't "it" superstars be able to get to the FT line? Hayward does that better than George and that is one of the main factors that separates players.
