Tom Nissalke postgame show

Who has Deron has a top 10? What is, "a lot?" Who on this list does Deron beat out?

1. Lebron
2. Wade
3. Kobe
4. Durant
5. Dwight
6. Bosh
7. Dirk
8. Roy
9. Pau
10. Drose
Serious? Bosh (none of his success has translated to winning), Roy (bad knees, always has, not athletic and not particularly big or strong, I also don't sense a ton of passion out of him either), and Rose BY A MILE. Rose is quick off the dribble and can jump, what else? His court vision isn't great, he's not a great passer, and he's still a suspect shooter. Besides zooming to the hoop, what is it that is so great about this kid?

Bosh is one of the best bigmen in the game. And Drose is nearly averaging EVERY SINGLE GAME what Deron just put up tonight.

Last I looked, Rose was also in the runaway lead for the ballhog award (as measured by FGA per game), too. When he is forced to pass after eating up 20 seconds of the clock with the ball in his hands, his teammates make some shots, too. Presto! An assist. Don't mean he has Deron's proven intelligence and ability to run a team.

Whatever, we've had 5 games this year, Thriller, and you treat those 5 games as though they define the entire career of the players involved.

6. dirk
7. williams
8. cp3
9. pau
10. duncan

now you can run and tell that homeboy

You put the list up you explain why not? Dirk is a hell of a player, but in all his years his success has not translated to championships. I still think Deron will have a ring before all is said in done. Here or not. Deron is also younger and been surrounded by less talent and has had an equal amount of team success.

I was kinda with you til this crap list..
Rose, Roy, Bosh..Dwill easily over any of them.

Besides Dunking and blocking shots, what does Dwight do? Memo can do a lot more than Dwight can, so can he be considered better?

Besides dunking and playing horrid pick and roll defense, what has Shaq ever done in his career?

Who cares if Rondo or Drose struggle shooting. The way they score and the way they draw fouls more than makes up for their lack of perimeter shooting.

If we're going to limit ourselves to weak "who wins" (which is what you used against Bosh) then Fisher and Parker own Deron.

Just because Deron has a better jumper doesn't mean that he's better than Drose or Rondo or CP3. If Deron wants to be considered better than those players, then he needs to put up better numbers and carry this team to more wins. He'll get his chance. CP3 just took down the Heat. CP3 is leading the Hornets to a 6-0 start.

Lets see Deron lead his team to that next week. I'd love for him to do that. Take down the Heat, win some road games, and actually have a winning record. That would be nice.

And as Nissalki stated, "Deron's the only PG that could have had this type of game." Hogwash. Drose is doing it, on a nightly basis. Hate him for his lack of a jumper all you want. But he's getting the job done. Rondo had 29 points, 18 rebounds, and 13 assists against the #1 team in the league last year in the playoffs and is averaging Stockton like assist numbers this year. CP3 has his team tied with the lakers for #1 in the west. Curry just beat us. Nash is keeping the Suns afloat. Westbrook is a beast.

I understand that Deron is a very good PG. But I'm not ready to declare him THE BEST PG in the league. Especially when I look back just 24 hours ago when he had 8 turnovers compared to only 6 assists. I'm certainly not ready to declare him a top 10 player. He's close. But not yet. And I'll never say that his game tonight was something that Stockton couldn't have done. That's just crazy.

Obviously Deron is not the only PG who can do this. Seems thats what started your rant, but really no one is arguing with you. I just need one more Jab at Bosh. He has been exposed for the fraud he was in Toronto. Sareif Adur Raheem (Sp?) redux

I would take KD and Dwight over DWill, that's it.

You'd take Dwill over Kobe, Lebron, and Dwade? Sweet.

Dirk is a hell of a player, but in all his years his success has not translated to championships. I still think Deron will have a ring before all is said in done.

So Deron is a better player then? ok....
Deron is also younger and been surrounded by less talent and has had an equal amount of team success.

I'm not sure at all about that. In fact, one could argue that Deron's also had a better coach to help combat the lack of talent. Rich Carlisle and the little general aren't exactly as respected around the league as Jerry Sloan.

Whatever, we've had 5 games this year, Thriller, and you treat those 5 games as though they define the entire career of the players involved.

sigh...

If we want to go on career stats then Rose and CP3 beat Deron easily. If you want to go with effectiveness I still don't think that Deron is the clear winner.

Just because I'm not ready to declare Deron God doesn't mean I don't think he's a hell of a player and easily our best player. I just feel like there's a lot of good players out there. And I totally disagree w/Nissalki's quote.

how about DPOY past 2 years in a row with no sign of slowing down this year and how about avging 14 rebounds per game for the past 2 ruca's

Sweet. So if we're going off the first few games of the season then Drose has already proven Tom Nissalki's statement false. Just one week ago he had 39 points, 2 blocks, 2 steals, 7 assists, and 6 rebounds.

Deron is hardly the only player in this league that can have big games like he did tonight.

Exactly why I think bringing up Deron's ability to shoot from the outside isn't a very good argument. Westbrook, CP3, Rondo, and Rose can all make up for their lack of jumpers with quickness, playmaking ability, and the ability to get to the FT line. I'm not ready to declare Deron the #1 PG in the league just quite yet. He might be the most complete PG in the league.

but deron on top of his jumper also has that quickness, playmaking ability and ability to get to the FT line that the other rucas got knaw mean? also with rondo and rose's lack of shooting ability other teams have a much easier time crowding the paint making it more difficunt for their bigmen . rondo passes up on so many open jumpers and opposing pgs play like 10 feet off him bro.
i do think a healthy cp3 is better than a healthy dwill though

Exactly why I think bringing up Deron's ability to shoot from the outside isn't a very good argument. Even Magic couldn't shoot that great from the 3 point line but did things that others couldn't. Since Stockton had a better 3 point shot than Magic does that make him the better PG? Does Magic's ability to post up make him better than Stockton? Ultimately, what determines how much better a certain player is than another?

Westbrook, CP3, Rondo, and Rose can all make up for their lack of jumpers with quickness, playmaking ability, and the ability to get to the FT line. I'm not ready to declare Deron the #1 PG in the league just quite yet. He might be the most complete PG in the league. But not the best one, yet.
