It's Over - Ne Deal for Gtime - RFA time

Favors is an introvert who had chemistry with Hayward.

He will not be as comfortable in Utah without him.

Chemistry, in all workplaces, is what makes success.
You're probably the guy working at an Orange Julius on the front line like "okay gais! Teamwork is success!" to a group of 2 co workers.

Please stop posting before I get vulgar!

Been reading your posts, and are you even a jazz fan?? I am the biggest Haward fan here, but I'm a jazz fan first, and will boo the hell out of him if he leaves the team wether by trade or Free agency.

Get vulgar. Do it!

I would have liked locking up Hayward at a fair deal, but this is good too. If his camp was asking for the max we will either save money or sign him to it in the summer.

Absolute no brainer move by the Jazz. If Gordo wanted more than they were willing to pay, no reason to not wait for the RFA to kick in.

"But, but... Hayward franchise playa! We talkin bout extension? Not a max contract! Just an extension" - Haydevil fanboy/warship(rip blues) reaction.

WoJo reporting they were several million a part per year

You either misread or are lying to try to further your point. Woj did NOT report they were several million apart per year. Just that they were several million apart. The per year part was never in his report nor tweets.

Nice to see Jazz have standarts. Let's see how Hay handles this year and pay accordingly.

Wish we could've gotten a deal done.

Someone will throw a ton of money at him. I have zero doubt about it.

If teams love him that much then I'd say we let them outbid each other when we declare that he's on the trade table.

Do it before the trade deadline and it'll also help the tank.

Dumbest move by Jazz.

Teams are going to jump at hime.

Which team who has cap room is going to jump at him? Those who do are tanking and will draft Wiggins or Parker - they do not need Hayward. There is just no market next summer for GH. Very smart move by the Jazz, they will offer him 8.6mil/year deal next summer and laugh all the way when nobody will offer more. Hayward should have taken 4/40 if it was on the table.
Very very good move by the Jazz, I am regaining my hope for this organization.

I didn't realize that if the Jazz didn't sign Hayward today, they had to release him at the end of the season. Must be one of those new CBA rules. Silly me, I thought the Jazz could just match any offer he received since they'll have plenty of cap space.

So true. udflyer, do you know the meaning of RFA? He is probably coming back, as long as he doesn't receive a ridiculous offer. This is a business, so the Jazz thought Gordon's asking price was too high. I hope we can keep him, but if the price is not right then we might be forced to trade him and get some nice assets in return. As a small market team we can't afford overpaying this much for a guy who is not a sure superstar
