Indeed. It's difficult to discuss because people generalize and tend to overlook the fact that no two situations are similar

I am not ashamed to say that books can be exciting. However, I feel unsure of myself after reading the book "Lolita"
While I am not sexual attracted to 9-14 year old girls, I found some of the passages to be semi-arousing.

The Lolita of the title is not an actual person, and the writer, IIRC, is using a unreliable narrator to tell the story. So, I wouldn't be surprised if your reaction came from Humbert making Lolita sound like, look like, or react like an adult, as opposed to a child.
