I'm sure it has occurred to John. I doubt any of them talk about it directly (much) but it's going to happen. It just makes too much sense. Book it.

If that's their reason for not doing it, that's racist.

With thast said, it won't happen anytime soon. Stockton is still very involved with all of his kids and their athletic careers, and doesn't want to give that up.

Anyone with a pulse and access to basic numbers could be convinced that firing Ty Corbin for performance reasons is defensible.

Why does it make sense? Because JS played for Utah and was a very good player? I think what makes sense is to get the best coach that you can find, whether he played here or not. It drives me nuts that people get confused with thinking that ex-players they liked make the best coaching candidates.

Nostalgia for the past does not make for great decisions about the future. Make the case that JS would be an outstanding HC in the NBA.

I think it's a pretty common opinion that Stockton would be a good coach if he decided to coach.

As Kidd is showing, going from player to coach without any time as an assistant isn't easy. I'm surprised they didn't bring him on as a special assistant like the did Hornacek. Make Stockton the passing or steals coach for the rest of the season and then head coach next season isn't as big of a jump.
