That's Noah Baumbach for you. The Squid and the Whale has a (in my opinion undeserved) cult following; everything else is utterly forgettable.
+1. If you don't get caught up in the hipster aesthetic, and can look past the abortion that is Billy Baldwin, it's a damn good movie. Very rewatchable IMO.I disagree. I thought Squid was a fantastic movie. It's obvious film making is a catharsis for NB. So keeping that in mind, it helps you appreciate the film more. I mean, if anything, the situations and dysfunction depicted are American as apple pie. Life is not pretty.
How were the boxing sequences? That could make or break it.
Really good. They used an HBO crew to film them. 8 cameras. MW did a fantastic job.
