What's new

14th Tank Platoon

Dont look at the numbers, look at the situations
Burks first year was a lock out year with no pre-season or fall camp and then a bunch of DNPCD's and inconsistent minutes. His second year there was no point guard (due to mo injury) and burks again got alot of dnp's and inconsistent minutes combined with inconsistent postition/role (point guard or shooting guard)
Burks has been coached by corbin

This year he is finally getting consistent minutes and consistent role and actually being used to his strengths at times.
This is kinda like the rookie year he never had.... and he is 22 years old. (dwayne wades rookie year he was 21/22)

By your logic that he should have the ball all the time Mo going down would be his catalyst to get him going. But he neither has good ball handling, nor court vision, nor decision making. There's a reason his WS/48 were below .07 the last years when the Jazz weren't dead last in defense in the NBA unlike this year. He's simply not efficient and we can talk about it next year again. When I see him I see a black hole who doesn't even produce to make his black holing semi legitimate. Next year new coach, new role. But I say: no breakout. He's simply too limited.

Why not talk about him this year......now that he has consistent minutes and a constistent role.
You should try watching some games first though and you will see him running the offense, not ball hogging, hitting 3 point shots at a 40percent clip the last few months, making the right passes, playing under control, while still getting to the rim and finishing amazing shots.

Talk with me about last nights game for instance...........

Oh ya and his defense is much improved. Last night i saw him making the right rotations on help defense and understanding when to switch on screens and pick and rolls. He was harrassing the hell out of bradley beal.

He still struggles against players that are bigger and more physical than him, the ones that back him down and go right at him, but he is getting better and he has been quite good against some of the smaller quicker guys (damian lillard and mo williams had a hard time against him earlier this year)

You are stuck on the alec burks that you have seen the last few years with inconsistent minutes and roles..... The alec burks of the last few months is a whole different player.

Keep your hate alive though bro, its all good

He played his best ball last year when mo was out and alec was getting more minutes because we had to have him play point guard

Also for BTP
Alec burks is shooting a better percentage than gordon and trey from the field....... and is shooting better from the 3pt line than gordon. Oh and turning the ball over less than both of them.
Keep believing that burks is an inefficient chucker though.

Hayward has attempted 102 more shots than burks....... burks has been to the line 2 more times than gordon though.

Jefferson and marv are similar in minutes to burks, but burks has 42 more assists than jeffy and 83 more assists than marv (though marv did miss some games, but burks still averages 1.7 more assists per game than marv anyways)

And this is for the whole season, alec was horrible in november

His November is almost erased as he was consistent in averages through December and January. So there's that. I don't know why you measure Burks assist numbers with those guys. Makes no sense to me. But if I feel like it I'll comment Burks next game a little in depth. I'm fairly sure my assessment is not far off.

Black hole? Serious?

Fair enough.
