Oladipo had a few monster games, including a 30point 14 assist 9 rebound game vs the Knicks

13.8ppg, 4.1rebs, 4.1 assists is a nice rookie season.
 
I'm glad he's 3rd. Some guys just need a chip on their shoulder. He seems to play better when he's pissed off about something. Very interested in seeing how he responds to a coach who runs the offense through him AND forces him to pick up the pace. Think he'd be very good in that setting.

If this was some type of a score/grade I would agree but it's not. I think the majority of people would rank them mcw, dipo, then burke. 1st place vote gets 5 points, 2nd gets 3, 3rd gets 1. When you consider how points are awarded the scores make sense.

I was the one poster (kkk doesn't count) who said we should move up for MCW. Then again, I also wanted Schroeder at 14.

Having said that, all of these rooks were trash.

Here's to hoping Trey lights it up in summer league so he goes into next season with confidence.
 
I think that counter triple double game MCW and Oladipo had was important in setting the tone for those two on the road to lead the rookie ladder. I think Trey will contribute more consistently than both, event though they will have crazy nights and successes.

Make a list of all the things that Trey still has to learn/develop.

Now make a list of all the things that, after this year, MCW has to unlearn.

I'm glad Trey struggled this year, cuz, you know, teh draft. And I don't think he picked up any bad habits.

They both sucked, but MCW will always be 6'6" , while Trey will always be barely pushing 6'0".

Trey list to learn and develop:

Pace.
Man-to-man defense
Positional defense
Initiatingg offense sooner so we don't have so many late shot-clock attempts.
Knowing when and when not to shoot.
How to shoot.
How to draw fouls
How to get into the lane and finish
Trust in his teammates


MCW needs to learn and develop:

How to shoot
Learning when not to shoot.
How to limit his turnovers.
Defense (although he is a better defender than Trey currently)
Trust in his teammates
Could improve PnR

At this stage, MCW has Trey edged in most categories. His pace of play, ability to draw fouls, get to the rim, court vision, get steals, and height are all huge plusses that bode well for his future. Trey has him beat with PnR skills, assist to turnover ratio, and 3 pt shooting.

Your post implies Trey learned good things this year, while MCW learned negative traits, and so I'd like to see a list of what you think each of them learned, and how that makes them better or worse moving forward.
 
I heard somewhere that MCW was the worst 3 point shooter that had over 100 attempts this season.
