The pattern of average S.O.S. seems eerily similar to that of when they were still in the MWC. So how exactly are you "better off" than before, with no conference title to play for, extremely limited bowl-tie ins, and the fact that power conferences are basically encouraging their schools not to schedule you?
The more TV money argument doesn't wash because BYU is a private institution funded by the LDS Church. Their resources have been virtually limitless regardless of whatever crappy TV they were tied up in with the Mountain West. I'm sure the ESPN revenue is nice, but it's not as if that money is as crucial to them as Pac12 dollars are for Utah.
Look, you're the BYU fan. I guess if you really feel better off as a fan, it's not really my place to try and tell you otherwise. However, if I was a BYU fan, I'd be petrified that the new college football structure is going to leave them out in the cold. It would especially sting considering that BYU being "difficult to work with" may have killed their last real chance to get into a power conference.
I dunno much 'bout the Pac-12. Just figured UCLA and Oregon would probably be better or smth. Utah should be pretty salty, but if they're the 2nd best team in Pac 12 that's kinda lame. Is it supposed to be a down year for the conference?
I don't disagree with what you have presented, just thought "insanely stacked" was a bit much

I know eggsackly how you feelWell, Utah's basketball program has been resurrected from absolute death, so I'm prolly a little over excited right now.
Jordan Adams and Kyle Anderson going pro for UCLA, Oregon's players have been busy raping girls.
All jokes aside, you understand Utah has a very strong basketball history, correct? We had some down down down down years, but we are back now. We have one of the best Head Coaches in the Pac 12, probably the nicest stadium in the Pac 12, and the basketball facilities we are breaking ground on now will be the nicest in the Pac 12 when completed.
Saying all of that to say that I expect Utah to compete for Pac 12 titles year in and year out starting next year. We arent an underdog in Pac 12 basketball (we are, and probably always will be in football), we are probably the strongest program after AZ, UCLA, and I guess you have to count Oregon because of all of their money.
If you said any of this about Iowa St I just wouldnt care, but I think you are more of a pure college bball fan than I am, so if you care at all you should read up on who we have returning and the recruits we have coming in.
Arizona will be head, shoulders, chest, and probably torso over everyone in the Pac next year (redonk incoming class), but talent wise I think Utah is #2.
I couldn't tell you a single thing about Utah basketball. Not one player, not one coach, not one single thing. I would love to bet you $25.00 that Utah doesn't come in 2nd in the SUCK12 this next year. In fact, I'll even give you 3rd. Utah will place no higher than 4th, GuaranSheed.
Interested?
of course we know basketball exists.
We lose in the 1st round of the ncaa tourney most years.
They're getting picked last in gym class.
